Take the Time To Read This Bestseller
Date of Review: Feb 28, 2000
Thomas Moore has a way of speaking and writing in a style that anyone can understand. He has a varied background including degrees in theology, musicology, and philosophy. He even lived as a monk for over 12 years. With such a colorful background inwhich to draw his beliefs from, Moore writes in an easy to understand style. In Care Of The Soul A guide For Cultivating Depth And Sacredness In Everyday Life, Moore trys to share his thoughts and ideas on taking care of your Soul on all levels of our lives.
The book in divided up into four sections. The first section called Care of the Soul, introduces the reader to the idea of honoring your soul. The second section called Care of the Soul in Everyday Life, talks about all aspects of daily life and how to take care of ourselves in all those situations. The third section of the book called Spiritual Practice and Psychological Depth, discusses the need for rituals and spiritual practices in our daily lives. The last section called Care of the world's Soul deals with the need for all of us to share in our world's healing.
The book also has a great many pages of notes and resources for further reading on the topics.
I found that I was not disappointed in this book in anyway. I can see why it was a bestseller for so long. It would make a great gift for anyone interested in a spiritual path or a healing life.
Happy reading!
