The Canon PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH / IXUS 800 Digital Camera

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Canon's new PowerShot SD700 IS Digital ELPH/IXUS 800 Digital Camera provides consumers with a near perfect balance of ultra compact size, impressive performance, and tough as nails durability.
Review: Canon has dominated the microcam market since the first ultra compact digicams hit camera stores. That's because the digital ELPH nameplate is synonymous with compact size, high style, impressive performance and leading edge technology. The newest...

Canon PowerShot SD700 IS - Image Stabilization Is Good, But How About Image Quality?

Date of Review:  Aug 25, 2006
The Bottom Line: I like the Canon SD700 overall, but I think Canon could have done better and/or at a lower price. Maybe Panasonic FX01 is a better choice for...
Review: I bought the Canon SD700 IS expecting good picture quality, especially indoors. Unfortunately I am disappointed.

I have always liked Canon Digital Elph cameras. I liked the 5-Megapixel SD450 and the 7.1-Megapixel SD550. I really liked the...

SD700 IS: Yes Image Stabilization Does Make That Much of a Difference

Date of Review:  Jun 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: Overall excellent camera although pricey. Image stabilization almost seals the deal but wish there were more manual controls.
Review: I've only had a few days to play with this camera so far but it has been impressive. I swapped my S3 with a friend for a few weeks since he wanted a compact camera with long zoom capabilities and he recently bought the SD700 through one of those...

SD700 IS great ultra-compact with IS and more

Date of Review:  Feb 11, 2007
The Bottom Line: Great feature set, easy to use, great photos -- great choice for an ultra-compact
Review: Last year I purchased the SD700IS after having been a huge fan of the SD400 (see review at http://www.epinions.com/content_213019233924). I didn't necessarily need the extra megapixels, but was wanted to try a camera with image stabilization. I was...

Point and shoot at it's best

Date of Review:  Sep 27, 2006
The Bottom Line: Small enough to carry, and the quality of pictures I find to be admirable. A great solid on the go camera. The money on this beauty I find well spent.
Review: Summary: The SD700 IS was a replacement for my Minolta Dimage XT. It's difficult to compare the two, because the Minolta was only a 3 Megapixel camera. That aside, I'll focus on the SD700 IS.

A week before a cruise I was going on I decided...

SD700 / IXUS 800 Canon - true travel companion

Date of Review:  Mar 21, 2008
The Bottom Line: I love SD700is!
Review: When I think of Canon SD700is, I think of 15 countries, more than 40 cities, and more than 16,000 shots. I also think of rains, fog, freezing cold and steamy hot weather. And in all these conditions, SD700 performed amazing. SD700is was trully my...

Satisfying my camera lust

Date of Review:  Jun 5, 2006
The Bottom Line: Great everyday camera, even for serious enthusiasts
Review: I've wanted this model since I heard it would be out, and now I've got it. The Ixus 800IS is currently the top of the line for the Ixus family, with the other two Ixus models being promoted by Canon being the Ixus60 and Ixus65.

I bought...

Canon Powershot SD 700 IS Amateur User

Date of Review:  Jun 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: I cannot imagine a higher quality camera of this size. It would be hard to take a bad photo with this camera after basic familiarization.
Review: I bought my SD700 IS for use at my daughters wedding. I wanted good quality pictures, flexibility, image stabilization and small size. I used the camera for about a week before the big event and even with limited time on with the camera my pictures...

Canon SD700, -- my first camera, my best choice(revised)

Date of Review:  Jan 10, 2007
The Bottom Line: Ease of use, style and photo quality is of high standard,I surely recommend this camera to everybody. Price is high though but its worth it.
Review: I always check online regarding Canon digital cameras review, and so , this camera is the one that attracts my attention best. It does look bigger than SD600 but its still got better feature, take note image stabilization, plus its tricolor design...

Real time optical viewfinder required...

Date of Review:  Nov 4, 2006
The Bottom Line: A pocket camera that rivals SLR's. I would recommend it to any enthusiast.
Review: My goal was to get a pocket sized camera, with excellent optics, and as close to SLR as possible in its features. With the feature set that the SD700IS has, it meets all of those requirements. Add in the Image Stabilizer, and it exceeds my...
