Canon Powershot S400 :Not as cool as CoolpixSQ or OptioS but way more powerful!

Date of Review:  Mar 29, 2003
The Bottom Line: I would nearly call this the perfect take anywhere camera with a massive 4 MegaPixels and 3x zoom... the only major weak point is the less than spectacular flash.
Review: The Canon PowerShot S230 isn't even out for six months and already there is a replacement for it... not that the S230 will be discontinued for a while especially with the sticker price of the S400 running a high $499! However, the nice thing is...

The New Canon Powershot S400 Is This the Ultimate Digital ELPH?

Date of Review:  Apr 3, 2003
The Bottom Line: The new Canon Powershot S400 provides a near perfect balance of take it anywhere durability, ultra-compact size, intuitive ease of use, and exceptional quality images.
Review: The pace of digital camera evolution is almost dizzying, with new models introduced at a startling rate, each more capable than its predecessor. One of the most popular segments of this high-tech revolution is the ultra compact (or micro) digital...

An INSIDE LOOK At What Makes The Canon Powershot S400 An Awesome Digital Camera!

Date of Review:  Jun 21, 2003
The Bottom Line: The Canon S400 is an excellent digital camera -- bottom line.
Review: The Canon Powershot S400 is one of Canon's many digital cameras. It's a pretty small camera that's easy to use and bring around almost everywhere. The Canon Powershot S400 is one of the newest digital cameras from Canon and costs around $500...

Heir to the elph throne.

Date of Review:  Jun 21, 2003
The Bottom Line: My opinion the best digital point and shoot camera on the market. Sexy design, proven reliability, made by a good company. Will even improve your "coolness" ratio.
Review: Why is it that whenever I pick a product, do extensive research on that product, and then when I really do love the product the company always releases another better product shortly thereafter.

Such is the case with the Canon s400. Just 4...

My first digital camera - still deciding if it's a film replacement

Date of Review:  Jun 20, 2003
The Bottom Line: Best compact point and shoot digital camera available today. Finally a possible digital replacement for film!
Review: I've been thinking about getting a digital camera since the fall of 2002 and nothing really lived up to my requirements until the Canon Powershot S400 came along. I wanted (as a minimum) 4 megapixel, 3 times optical zoom, compact point and shoot,...

This Canon goes BOOM Baby!

Date of Review:  May 14, 2003
The Bottom Line: With a faster than most startup time, responsive feeling, good auto focus, small size and 4 megapixel shot size, the S400 is an excellent buy without the other features.
Review: Here in the United States, Canon has offered a new camera for digital buffs. Depending on what part of the globe your in, the PowerShot 400 may have different names (US / Canada: Canon PowerShot S400 Digital Elph , Europe/SE Asia: Canon Digital IXUS...

The suitability and use of the S400 as an underwater camera

Date of Review:  Apr 26, 2003
The Bottom Line: After the hassles of the Canon S400 and the bitter disappointment of the Canon S50, I'll try the Olympus 5050 next. Stay tuned.
Review: This review covers the use of the Canon S400 Digital Elph camera and the Canon WP-DC800 underwater housing in an Underwater environment only.

Special consideration for underwater camera use:

Colors at depth:

Great New Technology, I'm Impressed!

Date of Review:  Jun 2, 2003
The Bottom Line: Although not totally revolutionary, the Powershot 400 gives a glimpse at some technological advances and provides us with more great photographic capabilities.
Review: I have been looking around at the many new technological advances in things like cell phones, TV's, DVD players and cameras for some time now and have been very impressed. It seems like every ten years or so things will be created that we couldn't...

Worthy successor to the Digital Elph line

Date of Review:  Jul 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: For great image quality, robust build quality, quick startup times and bullet-proof automatic settings, you really can't go wrong.
Review: I've been a huge fan of the Canon Digital Elph line and Canon products in general for a long time, and have owned the S100, S110, S200 and S400, due to a combination of upgrades and "accidents." With each sucessive camera, Canon has slowly upped the...

Review: S400 Review:

It took me several weeks of research before I finally purchased the S400.

I had been looking for a higher mega-pixel replacement for my (excellent) Fuji MX-1700). My first stop was Fuji, since the quality of images...
