Good but...

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2004
The Bottom Line: Good digicam with marginal low light performance.
Review: I bought the G3 last October when the G5 had already come out and there was quite a bit of a discount available on the G3 if you looked hard enough. I already had the Nikon D100 and had been using it for 2 years. I chose the G3 mainly because of the...

Great...while it worked

Date of Review:  Mar 18, 2004
Review: The camera was great until it quit working - Just 1 month after my warranty ran out. I bought the camera in Feb '03. Here it is March '04 and I'm having problems with it. The main one is I can no longer download pictures through a USB cable. Tried...

Canon G3 - A little complex - but very powerful

Date of Review:  May 19, 2005
Review: This camera was my first (and still is) digital camera!
I like that it has automatic and manual possibilities.

It is also excellent at flash which is not always true with this class of cameras.

I take videos with it and they...

Great camera to point-n-shoot or make the perfect shot

Date of Review:  Aug 2, 2003
The Bottom Line: But it, it takes awesome photos!
Review: This camera is a joy to own. You can leave it alone and take great automatic shots indoors and out or twiddle to your heart's desire. I too, had some blury indoor shots the first day I had it. One needs to peruse the manual to earn how to make sure...

Canon G3 - Guaranteed to please !

Date of Review:  Aug 20, 2003
The Bottom Line: After having used the camera for 2 months, my after-purchase satisfaction continues to grow. These days, that doesn't happen very often.
Review: After many years of 35mm cameras, both manual and auto-everything versions, we finally moved into the digital world. After plenty of research on the web, we decided on Canon's G3. Perhaps a bit pricey for some, considering this is a 4 megapixel...

A little better than G2

Date of Review:  Nov 12, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you own a Canon G2, skip the G3. For all other owners, I recommend the camera.
Review: I used to shoot 35mm Nikon N50, N60, N80, and also owned Pentax and Yashica Point and Shoots (P&S). I owned a G2 for under a month before purchasing the G3.

As my second digital camera (my previous one being a G2), I'll focus on the...

The Powershot G3 is the best digital camera I have ever used!!!!

Date of Review:  Aug 5, 2003
The Bottom Line: This camera is solid enough for most professionals and easy enough for for most beginners. This is the best camera you can buy for the money.
Review: This camera has it all. High resolution, a great movie mode, all kinds of special modes, such as night, landscape, people, different ISO settings, the list goes on and on. The G3 is also designed to take advantage of cool add-ons such as extra zoom...

A must for consideration in 4 megapixel cameras

Date of Review:  May 27, 2004
The Bottom Line: Great overall value. Best camera for flexibility, quality, and longevity at under $500. Not recommended if long range optical zoom is required.
Review: The Canon G3 is an excellent mid-size digital camera for the price. I have owned one for 7 months as of this writing and have had very satisfying results. I highly recommend it for any photographer that wants an ample range of features, while...

Beware of Canon Tech Support and Customer Service before buying

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2004
Review: Bought the G3 in July 2003, worked great for 6 months until battery problem started. Batteries are fine, use them in our Canon Z50 digital video camera with no problems. Camera still works fine if plugged into AC but no power from battery. Cleaning...
