Canon?s New Powershot A80 The Best Overall Digital Camera Deal Of 2003?

Date of Review:  Oct 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: The A80 balances ease of use, excellent performance, advanced features and superb usability with exceptional value to create what is arguably the best overall digital camera currently available.
Review: For the past few years Canon's entry level "A" series digital cameras have been one of the best choices for consumers because of their incredible durability, creative capabilities, ease of use, and bargain prices. Canon's exciting new A80 further...

Do you want to take my picture? Canon PowerShot A80 Digital Camera

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is a good, solid, camera that you won't be disappointed with.
Review: I have owned the Canon Powershot A80 Digital Camera for about eight months. During that time I have gotten the opportunity to take a variety of photographs with the camera. On the whole, I have been relatively happy with it but I think that...

May or may not be the best for you

Date of Review:  Dec 2, 2003
The Bottom Line: A terrific value with creative controls and advanced features, but I cannot recommend it because of the LCD.
Review: I'll start by saying that I don't own the Powershot A80. I own the Powreshot G3 and S50 cameras, both of which share many features with the A80 and operate in much the same way. I will also add that unlike some reviewers who may just play with a...

Canon A80: Excellent performance, tremendous flexibility, questionable ergonomics

Date of Review:  Dec 17, 2003
The Bottom Line: I give this camera high marks for its outstanding shooting performance and image quality. Unfortunately, this is marred by some ergonomic issues.
Review: I thought I had found the perfect 4-megapixel camera... Perhaps not!

I came to the A80 as the proud owner of Canon's EOS Rebel 35mm camera, which is a workhorse piece of photography equipment and very, very highly recommended. Canon knows...

Versatile and Fun!

Date of Review:  Oct 29, 2003
The Bottom Line: Overall I love this camera, it has something for everyone, easy for beginners and good for enthusiasts. With it had lithium batteries
Review: INTRO:
Cameras suffer from the problem of "moores law" which essentially mean that they are advancing quickly and every few years or so, your camera will go into obsolecense. Which is why, like with my computer purchases, I go with the standard...

Good price for the quality and functionality that you get

Date of Review:  Apr 30, 2006
The Bottom Line: Everything is really good with this camera, but if you like things super thin and small get a smaller Canon model.
Review: Love this camera. Have had it for more than 3 years. Shot good photos. I like the color it produces (slightly warmer rich tones). I saw a comparison of results at some webpage and I thought some other cameras produce somewhat more colder appearance...

Good, but far from perfect

Date of Review:  Jul 8, 2004
The Bottom Line: It's good, but not that good
Review: This is a good camera, but don't go thinking it's perfect.

For a start the electronic viewfinder is small and quite low resolution - reviewing pictures to see if they are OK is disapointing, you can't tell if something is in focus using...

Outstanding strength in all digital camera categories!

Date of Review:  Jan 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: Bottom line? I would indeed recommend it to a friend (or even an acquaintance) without hesitation or reservations!
Review: First off, whether you have bought this camera or not, please be sure to read the manual (quite readable, and available in PDF format at the Canon Web site), and the exceptional review by Howard Creech (one of the first reviews displayed right here...

An Outstanding Camera for Digital Photographers of Any Experience Level

Date of Review:  Nov 21, 2003
The Bottom Line: I recommend the Canon PowerShot A80 to the beginner and experienced photographer alike. It has an ease of use for the Novice, and offers the quality a Professional demands.
Review: Having studied photography and pursued my interests in the art quite seriously for many years now, as a traditional photographer I was very particular about taking my first step into the digital world. With so many brands and models of digital...

Liking it more and more

Date of Review:  Aug 4, 2004
The Bottom Line: The acid test is if you still like a product 6 months later. This one passes with flying colors.
Review: Picked up the A80 around six months ago, and with each use, I've become more and more impressed with this camera.

The features set is good. The photo's are good.

The ergonomics are good, especially with the very convenient...
