Canon Vixia HF-100

I purchased the HF100 after using the Sanyo HD1000 for about 6 months. I bought the Canon because of the company's excellent reputation for quality imaging both video and still. The HF100 has not failed in that regard. It is by far one of the best values for your money in the lineup of AVCHD camcorders. I have actually seen mini productions done entirely with this camera. Excellent video stability control to keep the camera steady when handheld. The camera has a large and bright viewfinder with controls to playback scenes as well as make adjustments to the recording modes. The FXP mode is the highest quality of high definition video the camera is capable of recording. On my 47 inch LCD television that mode produces the most vivid and life like video. It is almost like being there again. There are multiple settings around the video itself to include vivid color, b/w, and shooting in the cinema mode which gives you the movie theater effect. I would recommend that a potential buyer also purchase the wide angle adapter to put more scene in your recordings. Since purchasing that adapter, I have not removed it from the camera. I would also recommend the purchase of an off camera charger and a high capacity battery for your vacation. You can purchase non-canon batteries in the high capacity as well as standard capacity from Ebay for very low prices. The non Canon batteries will not show you the battery life, but you will get nearly two hours of recording time on a single battery in the highest quality recording mode.
