Battery problems

Date of Review:  Feb 8, 2008
Review: Great camera apart from the chronic and seemingly insoluble low battery indicator problems, widely discussed on line but denied by Canon. The camera shows low battery - and then closes down - sometimes after as few as half a dozen pictures,...

Good Sturdy Camera

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2008
Review: This is a pretty good camera what it lacks in features it makes up for its sturdy build. I dropped mine on the floor countless times and it is still working fine. If you want a good long lasting sturdy camera with pretty long battery life then this...

Excellent Camera For Its Class

Date of Review:  Jun 16, 2008
The Bottom Line: This camera is easy to use for beginners, but offers enough features to grow into. For the price, it can't be beat in its class.
Review: I needed to move up to a digital camera and was reviewing my choices. I figured I'd go with Canon since I'd been using their point-and-shoots for years without disappointment. I narrowed it down to the A570IS. The camera offered a whole host of...

Probably the best point and shoot for the money

Date of Review:  Jul 27, 2008
The Bottom Line: Great bargain. Excellent quality. Easy to learn. Must have for the average user.
Review: Cannon A570IS is probably one of the better point and shoot digital cameras that Cannon has produced. It has ton of features that are very rare in its class of cameras. It has a small size that is just enough to conveniently grip and use. The 2.5...

Good Camera Overall. Some Quirks

Date of Review:  Aug 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you can't find it for under $120, get a newer model. This one has a bug with battery life that is terribly annoying.
Review: I bought this camera after extensive research into consumer level point and shoot cameras. I have had a few digital cameras in the past and have found Canons to have some of the best image quality of any cameras I have used, along with having...

A good beginner's camera - the Canon PowerShot A570 IS 7-megapixel digital camera

Date of Review:  Jan 31, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you want a camera that's easy to use and takes good photos and you can live with some shutter lag, the A570 isn't a bad choice.
Review: I've been hemming and hawing on upgrading from the point and shoot camera that I currently have to something with greater resolution and more options.  As part of that quest I was able to get my hands on my good friend's Canon PowerShot A570 IS 7.1...

The A570 made me a Canon fan for life

Date of Review:  Jun 29, 2008
The Bottom Line: Both my digital cameras have been Canons, and both have delivered excellent picture quality and a great variety of functions, while remaining simple to use. Great basic camera.
Review: I bought the Canon PowerShot S200 sometime around 2001. Long enough ago, anyway, where I thought I was really cool to be getting a digital camera. Man, I loved that thing. It went with me everywhere for six years, and finally died a glorious death...

Low-Battery Warning Problem Fix

Date of Review:  Feb 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera if you want a nice point-and-shoot digital camera.
Review: I really like the PowerShot A570IS. It's a big step up from the A80 I had before it. However, I've experienced the low-battery warning problem that has been mentioned multiple times on the 'Net.

The problem manifests itself when the camera...

Canon Powershot A570 IS - A Great Little Camera

Date of Review:  Oct 21, 2008
The Bottom Line: It's a great little camera that takes sharp pictures, uses AA batteries, starts up fast and has very good shutter lag. Several exposure options and an optical viewfinder too.
Review: We got the Canon PowerShot A570 IS last year to replace my old digital camera. The Image Stabilization is my favorite feature as my pictures come out sharp far more often. Battery life is decent, especially with Lithium AAs. Flash recharge time is...
