Pros: Image stabilization, resolution, uses 2 AA batteries, size, features, image quality, easy to use
Cons: Slow flash recycle, noise at highest ISO settings, not cheap
The Bottom Line: If you need a compact, easy to use yet capable camera that produces excellent photos with print sizes of up 13x19 inches, has 4x optical zoom with optical...
Review: The Canon PowerShot A570 IS is a 7.1-Megapixel Canon camera with 4x optical zoom that uses two AA batteries and features optical image stabilization. It is a new model that improves on the previous models of the A5xx series by upping the resolution and ...

The Best Digital Camera for the Typical User - Canon PowerShot

by   CyndiA ,  Jan 17, 2008
Pros: easy to use, takes great photos, small, image stabilization
Cons: none for this type digital camera and price range
The Bottom Line: I loved the Canon PowerShot, so bought one for mom, so she'd move into the digital age.
Review: I bought the Canon PowerShot A570 to replace a great HP point and shoot digital camera that I’d flat worn out. I take photos almost daily for web publication and for the school newspaper. Seriously, I don’t go anywhere without a digital camera ...

In Which I Join the Digital Camera Age

by   carstairs38 ,  Oct 1, 2007
Pros: Simple camera that takes great pictures while using AA batteries
Cons: Flash recharge slow
The Bottom Line: I'm happy with this camera and think I will be for a long time to come.
Review: Having finally decided that digital cameras aren't just some passing fad (okay, so maybe it had more to do with other things being a higher priority like a computer I could download the pictures to), I recently bought my first digital camera. There were ...

A Little Wonder, Hard Working & Hard to Beat

by   knoydart ,  May 5, 2008
Pros: Great value for money, everything you need, supremely well designed & laid out.
Cons: Noisy CCD at high ASA settings, so-so flash, no battery markings.
The Bottom Line: This camera is hard to beat, what little it lacks is overwhelmed by wonderful design & ease of use at an affordable price.
Review: As far as I can see Canon can do no wrong when it comes to easy to use digital cameras & my latest purchase, the A570IS (replacing my worn out Canon A80), is a case in point. Others may have the edge in one or two areas but when it comes down to overall ...

Canon A570 IS Point-and-Shoot

by   frankbob ,  Sep 23, 2007
Pros: Optical Image stabilization a real selling point. Easy to obtain batteries- SD cards are cheap.
Cons: A little bulky for a pocket, and there is "noise" with ISO settings above 400.
The Bottom Line: I recommend it primarily for the optical image stabilization, but also for ease-of-use and the ready availability of AA batteries in an emergency.
Review: This camera is perfect for the quick, candid shot to record those family moments that only happen once. Zoom optical viewer as well as a vibrant LCD. Off-the-shelf AA batteries are easily obtainable and you can use rechargeable NiMH or NiCads. Using ...

Canon Powershot A570 IS - A Great Little Camera

by   kerijane1 ,  Oct 21, 2008
Pros: Small, Light, AA batteries, Takes great pictures, Image Stabilization, Fast start up, Optical Viewfinder
Cons: The memory card is under the battery cover door which seems a bit fragile.
The Bottom Line: It's a great little camera that takes sharp pictures, uses AA batteries, starts up fast and has very good shutter lag. Several exposure options and an optical viewfinder too.
Review: We got the Canon PowerShot A570 IS last year to replace my old digital camera. The Image Stabilization is my favorite feature as my pictures come out sharp far more often. Battery life is decent, especially with Lithium AAs. Flash recharge time is ...

What a great camera for the price!!!

by   jaymel76 ,  Jan 13, 2008
Pros: Image stabilization is GREAT! Quality is superb!
Cons: Could come with a bigger memory card.
The Bottom Line: I love this camera for it's excellent quality, low shutter-lag, and image stabilization technology.
Review: I had a Kodak Z700 for a few years until it decided to become unreliable (a very bad thing for a digital camera!). For Christmas, my husband bought me the Canon A570 IS (from my wish list). I am so excited about the quality of the photos! My ...

Pros: Easy to use, Many features
Cons: Video quality not the greatest
The Bottom Line: This is a great camera at a good price for the beginner and the professional.
Review: I have a Canon Powershot A570 and I think it is the best digital camera available in its price range. I admit that I am not a very technical person, so this review might not have all the technical terms you might usually find in a camera review. But if ...

Canon PowerShot A570IS Digital Camera

by   er-cardiacrn ,  Jul 11, 2007
Pros: Compact. Basic features easy to use. So far has stood by the Canon name.
Cons: Instruction manual a little hard to follow. Average battery life.
The Bottom Line: For the quality of prints that I have obtained with this camera I would not hesitate to buy again. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Review: I have been a Pentax user for years with my 35mm SLR, then came digital. I started out with a 3 megapixel and once I got the hang of digital vs. film I was hooked. As with any product they improve so quickly you keep wanting more. So on advice of a ...

If Its Cannon, It Might As Well Be Called "Professional"

by   jacobwesley ,  Aug 14, 2008
Pros: Compatable, Low Price, GREAT FOCUS, long lasting battery use
