EOS 40D Kit: The lens makes it a bargain.

Date of Review:  Sep 3, 2007
The Bottom Line: Best for those without a proper lens, as the included one normally costs twice as much when bought separately.
Review: Officially released on August 20th, and finally in select stores on the 30th (i.e. Ritz Cameras etc.), the 40D made waves way before official specs were released. In fact, the rumor mill started as early as one year ago and went rampant for nearly...

I ditched my new Canon 5D and bought this-SMART MOVE!

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2007
The Bottom Line: The best prosumer digicam Canon has produced!
Review: I'm fortunate to make my living in photography. At the same time,I'm almost unfortunate in the fact that I feel compelled to
dole out big bucks every time my brand of choice,Canon releases a new model camera or lens.

I recently bought...

Canon's Photo Cannon

Date of Review:  Jun 1, 2008
The Bottom Line: Excellent, though bulky camera with great range of features. Serious photographers will love it. Wannabees, too. Beware of durability issues.
Review: Updated: July 27, 2008
Reason: Camera Failed with "Err 99" after 10,000 photos. See below for more.

September, 2007, I had the luxury of a trip through the Eastern Sierras with a professional photographer(Kip Evans). During that time...

Great Camera For The Money

Date of Review:  May 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for an excuse to explore digital photography beyond the basics or a professional looking for a good backup body.
Review: I am a part time professional photographer and have used Canon cameras for over 25 years. I use the EOS 40D as a backup for my EOS 1D MKIII and I am very satisfied with the results I get from this camera. Canon has come a long way with their cameras...

Simply outstanding

Date of Review:  Feb 14, 2009
The Bottom Line: This is a quality camera and lens package that works for the pro and amateur alike.
Review:
After shooting for over 25 years, I just bought myself a Canon 40d DSLR with a 28-135 telephoto zoom lens and I love them both. For years I carried a Canon XT DSLR with the standard 18mm to 55mm lens and a 70mm to 200mm L lens for backup, but I...

Awesome DSLR

Date of Review:  Nov 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: The best consumer DSLR money can buy.
Review: I returned my Canon G9 and bought this Canon 40D instead. A much better camera.
If you want true quality photos, even the best P/S won't hold a candle to a nice or even entry level DSLR. I love my new tool as it finally has dust removal...

Excellent Camera!

Date of Review:  Aug 2, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend the Canon EOS 40D to anyone who wants to increase the quality of their digital photography.
Review: I started out in digital photography with a point and shoot camera. I slowly progressed and moved towards wanting a digital single lens reflex camera, as I wanted to be able to exert more control regarding how I took photos. My first digital single...

Review: Hello,
I bought last month a kit canon 40D with an objective 17 85 IS. From the beginning, it posted error 99 problems of battery. I could take photos, but I had to every time remove and put back the battery.
I thus sent back the camera and...
