I purchased this printer to replace my Canon MP that Canon won't write software/drivers for to scan with Vista 64. I have a home computer desk that has a slide out drawer for my printer. This printer is BIG and just barely fits, I actually have to sit it in there sideways. Comparing this printer to the old Canon MP 370 or 730 I forget now. When printing the delay is minimal, scanning is MUCH faster than the old printer. However I must say that it's not an apples to apples comparision as my new PC with Vista 64 is has 4Gb Ram and a Q6600 processor, overall the PC is about 4x the speed of the old PC. I would have kept the old MP printer if I could still scan with it. This new MX850 has a paper tray under the printer to hold fresh paper! How nice, just like a real printer! It also has the back feed option on back. So far I do not believe I have had any paper jams. Per the other poster's complaint about Faxing. We only plug in the phone line when we are expecting a fax. Even so, if what he reports is true, big deal, it can be dealt with. This is a nice printer. Also, this printer seems to be more efficient with Ink usage than the old Canon MP unit. The Ethernet connection was one of the big reasons I purchased this unit. If you have tried to share a Printer that is directly connected to a Vista 64 machine with a client PC that has Windows XP, it's a Hassle! IP is the way to go.
