Canon Digital Rebel XTi/EOS 400D and f3.5-5.6/18-55 Canon EF-S II Zoom |
|||
|
Pros: 10 megapixels, improved ergonomics, great battery life
Cons: Slow f3.5 maximum aperture on EF-S 18-55mm zoom
The Bottom Line: The Rebel XTi is faster and has more resolution, improved ergonomics, a new UI, and itÂ’s cheaper than its predecessor
Review: Canon introduced the first sub $1000 dSLR (Digital Rebel/EOS300D) in 2003 and the companys second generation Digital Rebel XT/ EOS 350D was the hands-down dSLR sales leader in 2005. Canons third generation Rebel XTi/EOS400D has a larger LCD ...

Review: I wanted to get the Canon Digital Rebel XTi ever since it was released. I bought a silver Xti with lens (black one is more expensive). The Canon Digital Rebel XTi with an 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is very impressive and especially so for its price ($760). ...

Pros: Compactness
Flexibility
Availability of accessories
speed
Cons: A bit pricey
grip could be better
very small optical viewer
The Bottom Line: An excellent 'cross-over' camera with enough capability and image quality to satisfy the enthusiastic amateur as well as a secondary or carry-on camera for a professional.
Review: There are tons of data, features lists, reviews and descriptions for the Rebel XTi on the internet or newstands. Rather than replicate this same material ad nauseum, I will relate my own personal experiences in using this camera. I find this to be ...

Pros: Professional features in a consumer minded package
Cons: Kit lenses are mostly junk (but they are cheap)
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this camera. I also recommend going to web sites like www.flickr.com to view image taken with this model and others.
Review: This Christmas we upgraded from a Nikon 4500 point and shoot (digicam) to a Canon XTi (Rebel 400D). There were several reasons for this and I will try to explain my decision making logic below: The first thing to consider for me was cost. I found ...

Cons: None that I have experienced during six months of use.
The Bottom Line: Buy it, get some high-capacity memory cards and accessories depending on your needs, and start taking excellent photographs. This is really a superb product.

Pros: High resolution, sensor cleaning, fast
Cons: a little on the light side
The Bottom Line: All those people buying Sony DSC and Kodak 800 series, trade them in, your camera is ready - a real dSLR at a regular persons price
Review: The Rebel XTi is the newest member of the Digital Rebel family As befits the market leader in digital cameras they have taken a successful product and improved it. Where the original Rebel sported 6.3MP, the XT sported 8MP the new XTi sports 10.1MP ...

Pros: Easy to use, multiple options, affordable, high quality. Get professional pictures from an amateur.
Cons: The flash can be slow and the LCD monitor is easily scratched
The Bottom Line: I have had this camera for over two years and it has never given me any problems. It has made me go from an amateur to an intermediate photographer.
Review: When I first looked at getting a digital camera I considered myself an amateur photographer. I knew how to point the camera at something and click the button. Every once in a while I would get a photo that made someone go wow, but I felt that it was ...

Pros: To upgrade or not to upgrade? That is the question.
Cons: Camera body alone won't do the trick. Doesn't come with CompactFlash memory.
The Bottom Line: This camera is easily good enough for professionals - as professionals have demonstrated - but can be set for point and shoot easy. As good as you can get.
Review: For the last 2 years, I have put my Digital Rebel 6mp through it's paces. As a "semi-pro" photographer, I've experimented with a wide range of conditions (light, temperatures, distance) and have been quite happy with my Rebel. It's given me four photos ...
