30D vs. 20D? Are the differences worth another purchase?

Date of Review:  Jul 1, 2007
The Bottom Line: If you already own a 20D, you'll dance when you try this one. If you want to go up and can't decide the 20D vs. the 30D get this one.
Review: My first canon dslr was the original Rebel also known as the 300D, for its time and considering what that camera cost, it was competent but it can't hold a candle to a 20D and even less so to a 30D. I shoot a lot of karate for my school, the 300D...

Impressions on the CANON EOS 30D : finally mature, but still expensive

Date of Review:  Mar 12, 2006
The Bottom Line: Unless you are making prints of over A3 size, i think this camera is marvelous. Together with the 17-85 mm stabilized zoom, it is sheer unbeatable.
Review: Having used a 300D and a 10D, i hesitated a lot before getting hands on this camera.
I got it with a Canon f4.0-f5.6/17-85 EF-S IS zoom, found it in Sim Lim square in Singapore.
Improvements are not so important: the good things of the 20D...

Solid feel and full control in any light

Date of Review:  Jan 12, 2007
Review: At 8Mp and low noise this camera performs right at to just below maximum resolution of most Canon L series lens. At 1800 to 1900 LW/PH you need excellent glass to take full advantage of the sensor/processor. Used with a F2.8 lens the viewfinder is...

High quality and features (High price too)

Date of Review:  Jul 18, 2006
The Bottom Line: Recommended as an upgrade from a 10d or earlier. Go with the 20d if this is your first DSLR as it is great and cheaper.
Review: This is my first digital SLR and I am very happy with its performance so far. It is a great mix of point and shoot ease with the full featured needs of an enthusiast or a semi-pro.

Ease of Use:

This camera is as easy or as...

My first DSLR

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2007
Review: I purchased the 30D because i wanted to get into photography. Having felt the rebel xt (350D), the XTI (400D), 20D and 30D before. I fell in love with the look and feel of the 20D and 30D. What made me choose the 30D over the 20D was because it was...

FANTASTIC QUALITY! WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Date of Review:  Nov 26, 2006
The Bottom Line: Professional Quality at a Prosumer price.
Review: This is an AMAZING camera. I have been using it for a few months. I previously had an HP Photosmart 912x which I was tired of because it's not a digital SLR.

I paid $1800 for the kit through Dell.

It takes a little getting used...

Still an incredible camera

Date of Review:  Jun 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: If your looking for Digital SLR. Stop looking. Buy this one.
Review: Even with the release of 10MB Rebel, this 8MB camera wins hands down. The 3200 ISO is well worth the extra cost over the Rebel. You can shoot indoors without a flash and at high shutter speeds to capture action all with little to no noise in the...

Great control and functionality

Date of Review:  Mar 8, 2007
The Bottom Line: The camera can be used by anyone with minimal photographic background. The pictures are crisp and the controls are excellent.
Review: The canon 30D is the next generation of canons dSLR line that started with the 10D, then the 20D. The 30D has some slight improvements over the previous 20D including a larger LCD screen on the back for working with the menus and reviewing your...
