Great value

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2009
The Bottom Line: Great  mid to tele lens to use in real life usage. Doesn't bog you down like an f/2.8 version of the 70-200. Great value.
Review: by David Tong
We reviewed the venerable flagship http://reviews.davidleetong.com/?p=573 a couple of weeks ago with favorable but slightly reserved recommendation due to price and weight factors. This week, I bring you a review of it's smaller...

Great telezoom, even better for a cropped frame camera

Date of Review:  Mar 7, 2008
The Bottom Line: A great addition to a landscape/wildlife photographer's bag that values light weight, quality equipment which can be transported by foot over many miles.
Review: There is nothing that screams "professional photographer" more than a white or light gray lens hanging off of a Canon SLR body. That is just the surface cosmetics though, as all real photographers know, what makes a true professional grade lens is...

Canon's Engineers Struck Gold

Date of Review:  Jan 29, 2008
The Bottom Line: This lens simply too sharp and too nifty to pass by. It is also compatible with Canon's EF1.4xII & 2.0xII extenders if you need higher ranges.
Review: I purchased this lens a few months ago from B&H Photo/Video and it has become my "go to" glass for short to medium telephoto shots when I have to have it right. This lens is incredibly sharp and faster than lightning with its constant aperture and...

Image Stabilized and sharp as a tack!

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2008
The Bottom Line: A great lens made even better with the addition of Image Stabilization!
Review: Canon makes 4 models in the 70-200mm range that all bear the "L" series designation, setting them apart as professional grade equipment. There is often confusion as to which one will best suit the needs of a photographer, and why. There is a large...

Its all about the image!

Date of Review:  Jul 17, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you can afford it, buy this lens. It is superb in every way.
Review: I bought this lens after trying the same lens at f2.8. In my opinion this is the superior glass.

First and foremost, the images that I have shot with this lens at both sides of its range have been spectacular. I have never owned an L series...

Sharp Lens

Date of Review:  Aug 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you are on a budget and want an L series lens. If you have the money, I recommend the F/2.8 IS over this one though.
Review: I purchased this lens as it was, at the time, the only L series lens I could afford. Although many people like the attention that white body has, I personally found it at times an annoyance however. When you are at a kids sports game, it tends to...
