Product Review

Linux Users: This one works!

by   davecs ,   Oct 16, 2005

Pros:  This scanner is compatible with Linux. It "just works" through SANE, no special drivers needed.

Cons:  It's only 600x600 though quality is as good as many with higher resolution. USB powered.

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I got this scanner because it was compatible with Linux. I had previously bought an Epson photosmart but it was faulty. I tried a Packard Bell and although it worked OK, the colours were rather artificial looking in Linux.

This model gives as good in Linux as it does in Windows. It's as good as 600dpi scanning gets.

However don't get carried away and thing other Canon models are Linux compatible -- they aren't!!

Price is a guess as I bought it in British Pounds some time ago.
