a step up from my previous low-end point and shoot
Pros:
Battery life. No viewfinder. Good design. Very good documentation. Lots of features. Very portable. Inspiring.
Cons:
Lots of blurry pics.
The Bottom Line:
If you have a steady hand you may be better off than I. I do love this camera though.

Author's Review
I have used this camera for about a year now. It is a great improvement over my previous point and shoot (Vivitar 3615). I was initially worried about the battery not being (multiple) AA or AAA since I was hoping I could use rechargeable batteries with it. I am very pleased with the battery life so that concern is now moot, although I hope I don't get stuck if I need a new one. I don't know how long Olympus will stock these. It recharges quickly enough.
I am also pleased that since it doesn't have a viewfinder, which is one reason I chose this camera since viewfinders in low end cameras don't represent the framing of your actual shot, that having to use the LCD screen to compose the shots and review them, to have it on alot, that I would be using the battery up sooner than I wanted. That hasn't been the case. Battery life is very good.
It is a well designed camera. Easy to figure out how to set it up and change settings as needed. Easy to get pictures into my computer and erase the current batch (when you want to, not easy to erase accidentally).
My only complaint is that I end up with LOTS of blurry pictures! I think the main reason is that without a viewfinder, you aren't holding the camera against your head so the camera is not steadied. Maybe I should experiment with other than the main automatic setting; maybe I'd get better results. I have tried them some and seem to have lots of blurry pictures regardless. I use the 2 macro settings often and on average, most shots are blurry.
I do love how well this camera fits into my hand or pocket. I have even dropped it recently and, thank god, it still works!
