Sweetness and Light: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Date of Review:  Aug 10, 2004
The Bottom Line: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a pleasant film that both men and women will enjoy.
Review: "I have vision and the rest of the world wears bifocals." Butch

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, They Were At My Wedding

Date of Review:  Jan 19, 2007
The Bottom Line: This drama, though a bit dated, of two outlaws is presented as light hearted, humorous and entertaining buddy film that continues to be a favorite of mine.
Review: How did those characters get into my wedding. They didn't crash it. They were invited. More in a bit.

The year 1969 was an amazing year for me. I was in my late teens and a sports and movie fan. The NY METS won their first World Series...

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - Simply A Classic

Date of Review:  Feb 23, 2006
The Bottom Line: You'll find yourself rooting for the so-called "bad guys" with no guilt in this classic film about the west and friendship.
Review: Some movies survive the test of time, others don't. Sometimes choices made in regard to a film seem right for the time, and later on don't hold up as well.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was released in 1969. Then as now it's a fine...

My Personal Experience with BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID.

Date of Review:  Mar 4, 2000
The Bottom Line: Superb bonding and timing in the acting of Newman and Redford enthrall us, making the film one of the last highly successful American Westerns!
Review: In the "Hole in the Wall Country" of Southern Montana and Northern Wyoming, they still talk of George "Butch" Cassidy and Lonny Longbaugh, aka "The Sundance Kid." For over 20 years, the pair robbed banks and trains. In fact, before they went East,...

That damn song.

Date of Review:  May 13, 2000
Review: It's parasitic: five days after you've heard it it'll still be rolling around inside your noggin, forever deciding which tune you'll hum as you take out the garbage or stroll down the sidewalk. "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" (performed by B.J...

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid: How Can Anyone Resist Redford AND Newman?

Date of Review:  Jan 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: Incredible cinematography and editing. The script is tightly written. Robert Redford and Paul Newman are two of the most talented and sexiest men of Hollywood
Review: The Coen brother's movie Fargo begins with the statement that it is based on a true story, but it was not. This movie begins with the promise that "Most of what follows is true." It delivers on that statement. The sepia tone film clips that begin...

Timeless Classic

Date of Review:  Mar 14, 2000
Review: A fun-loving serio-comedy recounting the final days of The Hole in the Wall Gang. This movie caught me a little off guard because I was expecting a hardcore western and got a light-hearted adventure tale. The jocularity of the movie serves a dual...

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969): Unforgettable Hijinks in the Old West

Date of Review:  Nov 19, 2007
The Bottom Line: This is one of the classics. If you want to see the Western that made Robert Redford a star and gave Paul Newman a great boost too, see this one.
Review: I think one of the reasons that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was such a stunning, classic hit almost 40 years ago, back in 1969, was that it was a dance of sunlight for American audiences in the dark and gloomy days of the Vietnam War. It...

You Just Keep Thinking Butch

Date of Review:  Aug 5, 2007
The Bottom Line: Very rarely will you find an original in anything. This film is one of them and a pure classic.
Review: My favorite Western, hands down, bar none is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Jeremiah Johnson being a very close second and Bite the Bullet, third).

The interesting thing about Butch and the Kid is- if you time the violence/bullets-...

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, my childhood playmates

Date of Review:  Jun 21, 2008
The Bottom Line: is everything.
Review: The sad fact of classics is that very few of them are perfect. "Morning Bell" on Radiohead's Kid A? They coulda done without it. An American in Paris' 20-minute closing sequence? Too long, and not very fun. But the reason that they're all classics...
