Someone's Birthday? Buy this?

The Bottom Line: Unless you are buying this as a gift, I would buy a binocular with a better magnification.
This Bushnell binocular was given to me as a gift and compared to my old binocular from 10 years ago, this basic Legend binocular is passable.
It s easy to focus on the target. Firstly, you adjust the sides to give you the proper eye distance. Secondly, you adjust diopter setting which is located at the centre of the binocular. This allows you to get a clearer picture of the target.
Three other things that make this ideal basic gift: 1) Waterproof; 2) Fogproof; 3) Adjustable Eyecups (for eyeglass/sunglass Wearers): This is designed for comfort and exclude extraneous light. This helps to improve field of view.
I took this to many of my wilderness trips and subsequently had discovered that though this binocular allowed me to see the target closer, I had yearned for something that would give me better magnification.
I did bring this to various theatre plays this binocular was a little too big to be carried in your suit jacket. I did feel like I was on a safari when I had tried to see actors on stage.
This is actually good when you are attending a class in the auditorium and you are trying to see what the presenter is trying to write or what he is showing.
I am saving money to get a better binocular.
