Frosty Champagne on my lips??? Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer is just the ticket!

I rarely wear lipstick or much on my lips, but on occasion, I do like to put something on. My lips have been really dry lately and I needed a solution that was easy and low maintenance. I found a pack of Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers in various colors and thought that it was the perfect answer for me! I trust the name and love the fact that it is made with natural ingredients.

The Lip Shimmer comes in many colors including this Champagne and I love the subtlety of each of them. This particular shade is my favorite because it is frosty and very natural looking.

What’s in it?

According to Burt’s Bees this product is 100% natural and not tested on animals.

Ingredients off the packaging:

sunflower oil, castor oil, beeswax, candelilla wax, lanolin, cocoa seed butter, tocopheryl acetate, tocopheryl, peppermint oil, carnauba wax, rosemary leaf oil.

The ingredient list goes on further to say that the product may also contain some of the following ingredients: iron oxide, mica, carmine, titanium dioxide

Why do I like it?

I like this lip shimmer because it provides sheer coverage and wonderful moisture that is long lasting. I love the combination of moisturizing lip balm combined with a refreshing pepperminty sensation. It is both beneficial and revitalizing for me.

I like the variety of colors offered with this line, but especially the natural frosty appearance my lips have with this particular shade.

I also like that the lip balm is skinnier than a Chapstick type lip balm. It is nicer for more precise applications. The total weight of product inside is .0975 ounce. It seems to really go a long way because coverage is so easy. It glides on easily rather than taking a bit of work to apply like with a Chapstick.

What do I not like?

Nothing really. I think this is a great product! Sometimes depending on how dry my lips are, the frostiness can be a bit too much with this one. Burt’s Bees calls this a luminescent shade and it definitely is frosty. It can be too pale for me on some days. On those days, I might appear a little ghostly and need a different shade.

A tube of lip shimmer from Burt’s Bees can be purchased for around $3.50 from various retailers including Amazon.com or many local drugstores. I found my set of five colors from a beauty supply store.

Other shades include raisin, nutmeg, coffee, and more! There is a perfect shade for anyone!

This is a nice product form a great company! I love Burt’s Bees products and this lip shimmer stick is definitely one of my favorites!
