Product Review

Great Car in every Way!

by   metro_mom ,   Feb 16, 2008

Pros:  Comfortable and Reliable

Cons:  Clunky steering

The Bottom Line:  I would highly recommend this car to anyone. It is a quiet, roomy and comfortable car. Will work great for families, couples or business.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

Our Buick Regal is now 5 years old and we have yet to have a single mechanical problem with it. The only parts which have been replaced are wearable parts: brakes and tires.

The ride of the Regal is truly comfortable. I now have 130,000 miles on it so I've spent a considerable amount of time behind the wheel. I've never gotten out after a long trip with a sore back or legs like in many other vehicles. The drivers seat is soft but supportive. The gauges and controls are placed perfectly. Living in a cold climate, I have found the temperature of the heated seats to be just right. Many other car lines have not found this perfect mix - their seats are either border line "On Fire" or just lukewarm.

The ride is much firmer than a typical Buick ride (Soft) and corners very nicely. One of my few complaints about the Regal though is a tendency for a "clunk" noise in the steering while turning. The noise has been there since day one and has been checked out. There has never been a mechanical failure because of it, however it can be an annoying feeling.

I have found this car to be wonderful in the snow. The traction control engages appropriately and helps you easily move on slippery or slushy surfaces.

There are no Granny starts with the GS model supercharged engine! Give this car some gas and you will forget you are driving "just a Buick". Which brings us to its only true downfall with today's gas prices. The GS model takes only premium gas which can add considerably to your upkeep costs.
