Bugaboo Frog - The Good, Bad and the Ugly

As a former nanny I have used every stroller from the Kolcraft umbrella stroller to the highest-end Peg Perego model out there. So naturally, when the Bugaboo strollers came out, I was intrigued. And when I was having my own baby, it was research time. I tried out every current model of stroller in stores. The Peg Perego steered sideways. The Graco Quattro (the most popular model out there) seemed really bulky. I must confess however, that I was planning for the prestigious Bugaboo all along.

My initial concern with the bugaboo strollers is that they are two pieces. Being in Minnesota, and the fact that I was having winter baby, I didn't want to be fussing around with stuff outside. It probably WOULD have bothered me, but I solved my own problem by getting the car seat adaptor. It made everything really convenient, and took very little time setting up or putting away.

Having this stroller is GREAT if you are a heavy traveler - if you get the transport bag, that is. We used the bassinet attachment & chassis for 5 months as a bassinet when we traveled. It was one less piece of gear that we had to haul luggage wise, and we had a comfy stroller wherever we went!

It navigates excellent on sand, and the hood is overgenerous to keep your little person out of the sun.

In short, my complaints (and solutions) about the stroller are this:

THe storage basket is lame and hard to get to - bag clips are a great solution, but the stroller will easily tip over if it is in an upright position and there's stuff on the handle.

There are no cupholders for mom or baby, but a company called Jolly Jumpers makes nylon ones that are compatible for both areas that works great.



Overall, I use my Bugaboo daily, and wouldn't settle for any other.
