Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Six |
|||||||||
|
Pros: Nice blend of comedy, drama and MUSIC!
Cons: There are just a few times when "overkill" doesn't quite say it.
The Bottom Line: Buffy Season Six is one of the most well-rounded seasons of all, only falling short of Five's relentless drama by a few small points...
Review: With Five big seasons under her belt, Buffy probably isn't surprising anyone when she overcomes the grave itself to return for another two. It's a weird feeling when you walk away from a life or a lifestyle and then, after some time, return to it. ...

Life Is The Big Bad: Buffy Season 6

Pros: Once More With Feeling, outstanding writing and acting, runs the gamut of feelings
Cons: boiled down: life sucks, before, during and after you die
The Bottom Line: Season six is about life and death and all the stuff in between. Due to high sexual content, younger kids should probably not watch.
Review: If you haven't seen any previous episodes or season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I don't expect this review will make much sense. It is easier to start at the beginning with season one and progress because one thing that sets Buffy and it's counterpart, ...

Pros: Once More With Feeling and some great extras
Cons: Dark and depressing most of the time
The Bottom Line: A must-see for Buffy fans, love it or hate it
Review: Warning: The following review of the Season 6 DVD set for Buffy the Vampire Slayer contains some vague spoilers for this season, and at least one specific spoiler for an earlier season. If you want to experience it completely unspoiled, don't read on. ...

Evil Willow Rocks!

Pros: The musical episode was awesome not to mention the finale which was superb.
Cons: More Giles and the Nerd Herd would have been cool.
The Bottom Line: Season has some of the best episodes of the series. Willow turning evil was great although it sucked that poor Tara had to die in order for it to happen.
Review: The death of the Slayer is kept a secret by using the Buffybot. They all go out together for slaying but eventually Giles decides to go back to England. I do wonder why a new Slayer wasn't activated but in the Buffy world anything is possible. Willow ...

Buffy stakes out some harsh new ground in Season Six |
|||||||
|
Pros: Buffy has to enter the "real world," everyone needs to pay the Piper, musical episode
Cons: Gets to be a little too dark, too often for my taste
The Bottom Line: The darkest season yet--still good, but missing some of the spark that brought us to Sunnydale to begin with.
Review: Six down, one to go...I'm starting to get rather jealous with my viewing of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." With the knowledge that I only have 22 new episodes to go, I want to savor them...but I know as soon as I pick up the seventh season on DVD, I'm ...

Pros: All our characters grow up and deal with real life issues and insecurities
Cons: Bad things happen to each and every one of our characters
The Bottom Line: It's darker than the previous five seasons, but still a great show.
Review: Life sucks. That seems to be an ongoing theme in the sixth season Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Season Five left us devoted fans in a state of bewilderment. We knew that UPN had bought the show for two years, but our beloved heroine had done a 50 ...

Sacrificing Double Entendre For Cold, Hard, Reality

Pros: Good Themes, Interesting Effects, Decent Character Work, Daring Nonstandard Television
Cons: Some Acting, Sacrificing Some Allegory
The Bottom Line: Possibly the peak of "Buffy," season six finds Buffy alive, disenchanted and lonely until tragedy strikes one of her friends and she is forced to accept her place.
Review: The first three to five seasons of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," the show has a tendency to be watchable on two levels. One is the literal level, where Buffy and her often-absurd friends run around Sunnydale fighting often absurd demons in a strange ...

Pros: Anya, Tara, and Andrew! More drama than action, funny.
Cons: Corny fighting scenes, can get dull. Willow and Spike are bad actors.
The Bottom Line: This is a great season of Buffy and Anya, Andrew, and Tara make this memorable.
Review: I received this DVD as a gift and so I had not really seen much of Buffy before. I had seen the first season and part of the second, but nothing else. So when I started watching season 6 I thought I would be confused but luckily I caught on fast to the ...

Pros: The bravest season of Buffy as our heroes must address their own personal demons.
Cons: About the mid-way point, the writers chicken out on addressing some tough issues.
The Bottom Line: Buffy turned a corner with Season Six. It's a season of growing up and learning about the demons lurking below the skin.
Review: Its like evolution, only in reverse.Anya, Afterlife This is Hell.Buffy, Afterlife Its something unpredictable but in the end is right. I hope you had the time of your ...

Pros: Some good writing, a few good episodes
Cons: No main villain, bad stuff happening to good characters
The Bottom Line: If you've already seen the first five seasons, you'll have to see this one even if it isn't that great.
Review: This sixth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is referred to as the life sucks season of the show. Rather than having a main villain, like all the previous seasons, this particular season is about the characters growing up and facing ...
