Brother IntelliFax-1270e Plain Paper Thermal Fax

My experience with this product began after my wife set it up. Almost immediately the printer ribbon (or part of it) came out the top with the paper. I was called in to find out what was wrong (she fixes the biological systems, I specialize in the mechanical systems).

After opening the printer, I got a nasty surprise. It turns out that the print cartridge is a "temporary" cartridge that prints about 100 pages and then sends you back to the store to buy the printer cartridge that one might expect to find in the box if they were buying a printer.

Kind of misleading by the company. "Oh... that car you bought, it has a temporary motor in it using hamster power. You will have to go back to the dealer to get the REAL motor a few weeks after you buy the car."

I hope the rest of the experience with this thing gets a whole lot better because right now I am not impressed.
