Unreliable! Fine for a few months, then major ink problems, and worse!

The Bottom Line: STAY AWAY. It works fine at first, then after a few months, it has ink problems, turns itself off randomly, and eventually dies.
RUN AWAY from this printer! I couldn't agree more with the other negative reviews. What really bothers me, is that I LOVED this printer at first, and now it doesn't even work AT ALL! I'm actually grateful that it has reached this point, because now I will have to buy another printer, so at least I will no longer agonize for hours over trying to figure out what I could possibly be doing wrong... I wasted money on new ink because it repeatedly said it was empty on black, it cleaned itself to death, it was difficult to operate, it shut itself off many times and I had to unplug it and then plug it back in, re-set it, and so on, and the print quality suffered over time significantly, even after replacing the ink. I just found a document that I printed on it a few months ago, and I could barely believe it had come from the same printer.
I normally do not bother to write reviews, but I felt compelled to say something because I was fooled at first and thought it was a great printer! PLEASE do yourself an enormous favor and STAY AWAY!
That said, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT I SHOULD BUY NOW??? I have a Mac, not that it should matter, but I'm mentioning it just in case. For the next person who reviews, please let us know what you intend to buy next to replace it. This one had all of the functions I needed (print, copy, scan, & fax.)
