Bad out of the box

I purchased the MFC8860DN to replace a HP multifunction that was 3 years old and too slow and expensive for my needs. The Brother was easy to set up and I had it connected and ready to go in about 20 minutes, but when I turned it on I immediately got a cooling down message and couldn't print or use the copier. After about 45 minutes the cooling down message went off and I printed a few pages to see how it printed. The printing was very good and fast and I thought I had a good solution but the machine has continued to randomly generate the cooling down messages and now it won't even turn on.

Update : After dropping my machine at a service center 40 miles away and waiting two weeks for parts, the machine still doesn't work and parts will be backordered another month or more. I opted to call and have the unit replaced and they may send me a refurbished unit. If you order one and it's defective get a different brand.
