good at first

Worked good at first but then got some nasty surprises. Network functionality died after about a month and had the revert back to USB. I do computer consulting and repairs for a living, and I could not get it working again using the network connection.

This printer uses ink, even when it is turned OFF!! It goes through incessant cleaning cycles which gobbles up ink even if you don't use it or have it turned off (but plugged in). It is programmed to use up ink at all costs and force you to buy new cartridges.

The document feeder works less than half the time. The only way I can get it to fax is to unplug it and plug it back in before I start my fax. Otherwise it beeps like crazy and gives meaningless error messages. Limited options for setting up fax receive. I would have liked to be able to turn fax receive on at the push of a button and then back off as I only get faxes occasionally. Not possible with this unit.

I am tossing this unit and getting a new lexmark for a few bucks more than the 4 cartridges I need to replace after a few months of very limited use. Recommend you avoid this MFC printer.
