Broan Does The Job

The Broan stove hood that I have is 523001. It is one of the best models I have ever used.

Mine is white in color.
Occasionally I use a cloth with a small amount of dish soap to remove any grease or general dirt.
To keep it clean and shiny, simply wipe with a damp cloth.

The fan has two speeds.
I use the low setting when I have a small amount of steam from pots. The high setting is best when your cooking something like fish, it helps remove some of the odor. Of course if a food is burning the high setting is great for eliminating smoke quickly.

The filter is easy to remove for cleaning. Placing it under running water takes care of grease and grime. I usually place it in the dish drainer to dry before replacing it.

The light feature uses a everyday bulb. I keep a 75 watt in mine. It's nice having an illuminated area to cook with. Also in the evenings, I leave this light on instead of one of the other more energy hogs in the kitchen.

Overall, this hood is easy and economical to use. A breeze to care for and a great value in its category.

The cost was $60.00. It was purchased at a local family owned store.

The installation was provided by my Dad. According to him, it was a snap to hook up.
