Author's Review
Over the last 14 years, I have had tons of car seats buckled in and out of my car. I have had infant seats, car seats, and yes, booster seats. My youngest grandson is 18 months, and the next grandson up is four. Since I babysit, and take the kids with me, I have had a supply that I can't seem to have the heart to put up for sale at my annual yard sale, because I know the next time I turn around, another grandbaby will be on the way. And yes, I have another on the way. So thank heavens all of the infant equipment my daughters bought for me for their kids are still stored up. But let me tell you about Britax, and this lovely car booster that is a pleasure to use, and has taken a lot of stress off of my back putting this in and out. First thing. Safety is the number one priority to me. The 5 point safety tested harness in this booster, and most Britax's is well worth the offset of cost. The LATCH system, which has 5 points of locking in, keep the seat safe and in place during sudden stops. This seat is good for babes that reach 50 pounds. This system has a bar that goes between the slots of the back, and the seatbelt is harnessed through the slots for a tight fit. There is no lap belt, as kids this age need shoulder belt to hold them safely in place. It is a bit tricky, and depending on the size of your car, your child may or may not have much leg room. With the two shoulder straps that come down over your child to secure them, the HUGS pads make the straps comfortable, and add extra safety measures in holding your child in place with a strong clip to secure. It takes a lot of stretching to get the seatbelt into the buckle loop to snap, but if you get on the opposite side of the seat, you can pull it through instead of bending and hovering over it.
It slightly reclines when your child has nap time and has mesh pockets on either sides of the booster for snacks, or toys to keep the child occupied. It is soft and plush to sit in, and very comfortable. I have had two grandchildren in this seat, and I have not had any trouble with it so far! It is easy to clean, and has not lost the fluff despite several washings! I like that this seat is easy to carry, it is not very heavy, and does not have a lot of straps flying everywhere when transferring it from one vehicle to another. For safety, solice and sturdiness, you can't go wrong! I have had several car seats and quite a few boosters, and this is the one I always grab to use when I am in a hurry or traveling a long distance.
