Author's Review
My husband picked up the Britax Companion car seat and the Preview stroller as a surprise for me the day we brought our fourth child home from the hospital this summer. He found both being cleared out at our local Target. We put our two and a half year old daughter into a Britax Marathon when she turned a year old and fell in love with the engineering and styling of Britax.
The Preview is a beefed-up "umbrella" style of stroller---heavier duty than the flimsy kind that is out there but still compact compared to most. It works with the Britax Companion Car seat, creating a stroller system, which is a huge luxury when your little one is an infant. This stroller is engineered to take a beating and be used constantly, even through multiple babies. We are considering having baby number five, and this system will definitely survive well-intact through our fourth little one!
I love that the Preview is very easy to collapse---you unhook and lift a small bar on the back, and the entire stroller collapses completely into itself to take up far less room than a traditional stroller. It has a deep basket underneath. The Preview's fabric matches the Companion car seat. It has a very nice sized sunvisor with a window under a flap, and when you pull the visor and the sun shade on the Companion car seat together, They provide total shade and a very dark environment for them to sleep while still open through the sides for air circulation. The stroller has a very nice five point harness system to use when the baby is older and no longer needs to be in an infant seat (or can sit up), and I love the fastner on it.
The seat reclines in more than one position using both hands pushing on two levers on either side under the stroller above the basket. I love the feature, especially when I have needed to change a diaper and needed to fully recline our son, but it's not the easiest to operate---this is something that they could improve. The levers have to be pressed at the same time and feel "stuck" if you don't squeeze them just right. There is also an adjustable pad under the legs that can come all the way upright 180 degrees and a separate foot rest. The handles are comfortable and the pivoting wheels are great. The foot brakes are easy to use.
AND IT HAS A DETACHABLE BAG with an adjustable shoulder strap! I love this bag. It zips very easily on and off the back of the stroller on a big fabric flap. I carry a small pack of wipes, five diapers for our little one and a couple for our two year old, my wallet, a change of clothes for the little one, and a burp rag or two in the big pocket, and then it has a smaller zip pocket on the outside that I carry my cellphone with extra space in and an open elastic pocket that carry an extra pacifier in and my sunglasses. Did I say how much I love this bag?
Improvement Wish List:
I wish the stroller had a bar instead of two handles to make it a little easier to steer with one hand.
I wish it had a drink holder on the handle.
I wish the basket was easier to get in and out of when the back of the stroller is reclined.
