Amazing Quality and Very Safe.

The Marathon came to Canada last year and I ran out to buy one for my son who outgrew his Graco Comfortsport (too tall), but was too small for a booster. The Marathon is great for tall/skinny tots, or those with very long torsos.

The price tag was huge (almost double what I paid for his other carseat!), but totally worth it. This seat is a monster! Huge and heavy, but easily installed and really solid in the car. It's well-padded to make trips very luxurious and sleeping really comfy! Easy to adjust, remove and clean, too.

I have one beef (which is minor and very specific to my son): My son, at about 20 months, even strapped in SUPER tight, could still reach the lever down front to loosen the straps (on most carseats, it's quite low so no little one could ever manage to reach it). Since he couldn't get the straps undone, all he had to do was pull the lever, lean forward, and voila - out of the seat. Sure, not all kids are amazing escape artists like my son, but if yours is, you may want to think twice about this particular Britax.

My solution to this problem: I sewed up the flap that covers the lever. It worked for a while, then he got wise to it and just pulled the lever from over-top of the material (!!!!!!). Needless to say, it was a challenge there for a while (that's why they call them the terrible twos).

Other that that minor design flaw, it's an outstanding seat. Can't put a price tag on safety!
