Unhappy with substandard service

We bought ours in Calgary Alberta Canada. I wanted to make sure I had the BEST seat for my daughter and checked all the reviews and histories of the companies.

We paid 299.00 for our car seat and have a 1997 Honda Civic sedan. We went to turn our daughter around to forward facing as she is now 1 and over 20 lbs and discovered our seat cannot be tethered properly. The Britax manual says to call Britax for tethering hardware if required. I called Britax and they are out of stock until June 2008 and it would be AT LEAST 6 months after that that they would be able to send it out. The tether bolt started out free and then went up to $1.95 when I questioned what are we to do in the mean time. Under Alberta law forward facing car seats MUST be tethered. I was given the runaround, Insulted, told to buy a new car and hung up on. Honda does offer the bolt for $17!!! I am unhappy with the way I was treated by the company and the fact that they did not attempt to point me in the right direction. I was told to go to home depot buy a bolt and try that. How unsafe. If you have a post 2002 car it is a great car seat, otherwise look elsewhere or expect to spend more in installation.
