great seat--once you get it in, plan to keep it in

I read all of the reviews on this seat and was prepared for a tough install, but not that prepared! I couldn't get enough belt for the long belt path and the short belt path gave me about 6 inches of slippage. So I went to the car seat safety installation expert and she got it in so tight it won't move (that's why she's the expert).

I highly recommend that if you go with this seat you plan to have it installed by a professional and keep it in. This is not going to work for someone who moves their seats around all of the time.

Here are two tips that I learned from her:

1) If you do have to do it yourself, lay the seat back to push the seat in far enough to make the long belt path work, then raise the seat when it is buckled in.

2) The straps twist--no not on a Britax! Yes, on a Britax. When you loosen the harness, pull both sides at the same time to keep the straps from twisting. This is what she learned from calling Britax b/c so many people (including me) had an issue with it.

That all said, this is an excellent seat, my daughter is comfortable in it, her head is stable when she falls asleep, and we can rest a bit easier not having side airbags in our van.
