It looks nice, but...

I actually bought this cordless electric kettle by Breville after a salesman at Crate and Barrel convinced me that it is the "Cadillac" of all electric kettles. While I do like this for many reasons, I do have a few gripes with it and so do not actually agree with the "Cadillac" classification.

The kettle has a very sleek and sophisticated look. It is all silver with black handles and a black top. The steel is stainless and always looks shiny and nice. And when you turn the kettle on, it lights up blue, making it look even better. In terms of looks, I don't think you can get much better than this.

My gripes start with the fact that I feel this kettle takes SO long to boil water. All though it does an incredible job at actually boiling the water, it seems to take forever. There are times when I have to wait five to eight minutes to get one cup of water boiled. I've had other kettles that are much cheaper which can get the job done in under five minutes. Another thing I do not like about this kettle is that the top and sides of the kettle get very hot when the water is boiling. If somebody happens to touch the kettle while it is on - they can get a very bad burn! So, you really need to practice caution with this kettle.

I have been using this kettle for about eight months now. It has never broken down nor given me any really bad problems. It looks very sophisticated and works fairly well. But at 75 dollars a piece, I feel I could have gotten something a little bit faster!
