Staind - Boston's Answer to Creed?

by  fixxxerny ,  Jun 8, 2001
16 out of 17 people found this review helpful.
Pros: The mega-airplay of "Outside" and "It's Been Awhile" can't hurt.
Cons: Nothing ground-breaking here...
The Bottom Line: "Outside" and "It's Been Awhile" are not indicative of this album's line-up. Buyer beware unless you like surprises.

Review: "Your daughters are porno stars" croons Aaron Lewis on the opening track of Staind's new album, "Break the Cycle." This opening song, "Open Your Eyes," smacks of the same sort of "are you listening?" stuff that has elevated Creed higher...

Pros: Emotional, sounds great
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: I recommend this to anyone who likes good metal. Meaningful lyrics, and a great sound all together!

Review: Music to me is more a feeling, then a sound. Staind's ability to make me feel is greater then any other bands capability. They completely touch me so passionately.
Their new ablum blew me away. Aaron's emotions (the lead singer) are told so...

The Bottom Line: please get it, i've written enough about this album, do ya really need more?
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: i'm a pretty big rap and hip hop fan myself, but i can't get my ears off the new STAIND album. why would a rap guy like me do so? i really don't know, but i could try to do so: it's a really damn good album. i know my rock/metal experience is very...

Review: I'm going to be honest with you. I had never heard of Staind until I listened to "Outside" and "It's Been Awhile". But after I listened to this music, I fell in love with it. I love their melodious tone.. the way they express themselves. Their...

Stain on your Soul

by  Bassmasterld ,  May 30, 2001
7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Such an amazing change from listening to metalist who just like to scream
Cons: Only 13 tracks...:)
The Bottom Line: This is a great album, and people who tell you otherwise don't know their a$$ from their elbow.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Aaron Lewis has taken a giant leap with this album. Staind's first album, disfunction, was good in that it was a hard hitting metal album with alot of emotion behind it. But something Break the Cycle has that it's other didn't, is a sign of true...

Breaking the Cycle of the Same Ole Crap

by  PacManY2J ,  May 23, 2001
Be the first one to rate this review
Pros: music, lyrics, vocals
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: This is a tremendous album for fans of hard rock. I can't detect any Fred Durst influence either - thank God.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Staind's 2001 release, Break the Cycle, launched the band into mainstream status. I believe they deserve every bit of popularity they have attained. Their dark, angry songs range from light to heavy but all of them absolutely rock. Not only...

7 out of 7 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Awsome song writing
Cons: Very mellow
The Bottom Line: A excellent album if you can get past the mellow nature of the disc. Very good.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: If your a fan of the first Staind album Dysfunction you might want to hold off on this album. The only reason i say that is because where the first album was metal this one is more grunge than anything. The lyrics are very mellow but the music is...

6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Excellent vocals, Guitars and just about everything else. Very emotional.
Cons: Very little.
The Bottom Line: This is just an amazing album that really shows how good Staind is and how promising of a band they are.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Staind is a great band that has really grown throughout the past couple of years. They started off as a pretty small, no name band but have toured relentlessly with huge acts such as Korn and Limp Bizkit. Their fan base and radio play has increased...

Review: Staind, just released its newest album a few weeks ago. This is a band that came out in 1999. This, being their second album and did not disappoint its fans. Dysfunction, their first album went platinum and had many hits for hardcore rock and roll...

Behold! The Obliterated Cycle!

by  staind_beyond ,  May 29, 2001
8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Singing (especially singing), guitars, songwriting.
Cons: None. This is the winner of Album of the Year for 2001.
The Bottom Line: Staind is awesome. They prove that good things come to those who wait. This is the sound of a truly mature band. No Bizkit-like antics here.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Wow. This is definitely the best album to come out this year. Yes, Tool's "Lateralus" was pretty good, but "Break the Cycle" does exactly that.

In a music scene saturated with no-talent, pop stars, Staind charges in with the first truly...
