A Few Good Songs

by  DarkStarGS ,  May 25, 2001
4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Good songs through out, two versions of It's Been Awhile.
Cons: I like the live version of Outside better
The Bottom Line: If you like mellow music, this ones for you. If you don't.....I think you should stay away from it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I have to admit, I was kind of leery about buying the Staind Album because I would only be buying it for two songs, Outside and Its Been Awhile. When I listened to it, I was pleasently surprised. I'm not a hardcore fan of Staind, but I enjoyed this...

Pros: There are 4 excellent songs, the rest are just good!
Cons: Aaron Lewis s voice is a bit depressing, but very good!!
The Bottom Line: The music is wonderful, apart from Aaron Lewis tends to make the songs sound more depressing than they should be.

Review: Introduction:

I have read other people?s opinions such as Nic60 on this album- Staind- Break The Cycle and if I seen mixed reactions to it, some like it others just don?t seem to like it, personally I think this is a wonderful album...

Fred Durst Ruined Staind

by  mulisha14 ,  Aug 15, 2001
4 out of 4 people found this review helpful.
Pros: A mature sounding Staind, and inspiring title name
Cons: Heavy Metal? You must be joking...
The Bottom Line: If you like Staind because of the hardness and edgyness of the first two albums (Tormented and Dysfunction), you will hate this album with its soft songs and corny lyrics.

Review: I first heard of Staind through one of my friends who had heard them in a local club, he had bought thier CD and had loaned it too me. I was instantly mezmorized by the contracting sound of the music and Aaron's voice. I loved the sharp sounding...

So much potential gone to Waste...

by  punkrawka ,  Apr 16, 2003
46 out of 46 people found this review helpful.
Pros: A few potent tracks
Cons: A lot of middling, subpar tracks; no one identity or sound for the band
The Bottom Line: An album that gets lost in itself -- pick up the band's previous CD or wait for the next one.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: There was a lot of breath held over the release of Staind's Break the Cycle. The band was riding a dual wave -- an underground tide from the success of their heavy debut,

What would you do if Staind did Break The Cycle?

by  jbrd ,  Dec 13, 2006
50 out of 50 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Staind can pull off some amazing material.
Cons: While the band can't fully deliver that in a thorough record.
The Bottom Line: Should I turn it up for you? I sit here locked in my head, remembering what you said
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Although, I'm not a huge fan of Staind, I do enjoy their music. Sure, it isn't the best out there and it does put you in a very depressing mood after listening to them, but overall it's good stuff. One day, I went crazy and bought a few of the...

Break the Cycle of Talent

6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
Pros: nope
Cons: flat, boring, and endless whining
The Bottom Line: Lyrically Flat, Unoriginal music, and no emotion
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: In 1999, one of the hottest tours of the year was the second round of the "Family Values Tour", featuring the undeservingly successful Staind opening the show. While most had not heard from the band by the time the show graced their cities, they...

Staind really breaks the cycle with this one

by  achoo902 ,  Jul 9, 2001
6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Full of brutally true songs. Wonderful mix of hardcore and ballads.
Cons: Depressing. Somewhat hard to understand the meanings.
The Bottom Line: It's great CD overall, I would recommend it to any rockhead. It's a CD you can listen to over and over and never get sick of.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: An excellent CD! Staind went from being Limp Bizkit's no-name opening band to the music sensation the are today. Break the Cycle sold more than 700,000 copies in it's first week. It's an album of dark rants and brutally confessional ballads. It...

To be Staind or not to be Staind

by  danielleharper ,  Aug 17, 2001
9 out of 9 people found this review helpful.
Pros: You get to see the softer side to Staind
Cons: I really do not have one
The Bottom Line: Staind has substance and real emotion. A great sound. Not like the "pop" music that has been infesting our air ways.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I love this CD and the band Staind. I saw them in concert in April of 00' and they rocked. I am not always in the mood for loud and heavy. This is a great change form their other album before. Staind shows they can have a lighter feel and still rock...

Staind Clean Up a Bit But Remain Dark and Angry

by  PacManY2J ,  Jul 5, 2009
36 out of 36 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Catchy hits, lots of emotion, some good hard rockers
Cons: A few mediocre tracks
The Bottom Line: Staind's biggest - but not quite best - album

Review: Springfield, Massachusetts rock quartet Staind gained some well-deserved attention with their 1999 album Dysfunction, but that was nothing compared to their runaway success earned by its followup, 2001's Break the Cycle. This album...
