Staind Breaks the Cycle

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: I definitely recommend this album. I think Staind is a leader in alternative/"nu" rock and they are one of my favorite bands. Of course, Aaron Lewis is a definite plus!
Review: When I first heard Staind with their first album, I fell in love instantly. I bought their first album after hearing only "Mudshovel" and "Home". I listened to it over and over again. I couldn't wait for them to come out with a new cd. Then, I went...

Staind Breaks Britney's Cycle

Date of Review:  Sep 3, 2001
The Bottom Line: Break the Cycle is a great departure from much of what is played today. The music is generally very good all-around, though monotony may be a draw-back.
Review: Background- I purchased Break the Cycle in June 2001, after hearing and liking "It's been a while" and "outside." Staind's music falls on the borderlines of alternative, rock, and metal. On Break the Cycle Aaron Lewis forms the backbone of the...

The cycle isn't completely broken yet, but nice try...

Date of Review:  Sep 4, 2001
The Bottom Line: Do not buy only on the basis of the radio songs, because the other material is different. You can do worse than this but it just doesn't appeal to me.
Review: I had high expectations for this album when I want out to buy it. It had already spent a couple of weeks at #1 on the charts and seemed to be getting a lot of press attention. "Its Been Awhile" and "Outside" got major radio airplay, and grew on me...

This must be a Wonderful blessing.....

Date of Review:  Apr 7, 2003
The Bottom Line: Buy it- if only because you think you may like it. You'll enjoy the fact that it's not pop.
Review: Hmm...blessing. From all the pop sh!t that is cramming my radio- that's exactly what Staind is doing. Saving me from more syruppy pop-synth garbage that is coming around in a never ending apocolyptic shmorgasborg. Well, with that being said, let's...

"Open Your Eyes", Man

Date of Review:  Oct 9, 2001
The Bottom Line: I recommend this cd to all the Staind fans, old or new, because it's some piece of work and a great album.
Review: Staind has been quite a successful band even before "It's Been a While" and "Fade" hit the mainstream. Their first labeled album, "Dysfunction" was the break through and they remained as a popular band with little airplay. Now, a couple years later,...

I'm hooked on Staind

Date of Review:  Jun 30, 2001
The Bottom Line: Bottom Line.....Buy this CD!
Review: I would just like to start out by saying I think this is one of the truest and most talented bands out there right now. Anyway about this CD. Most people think that this is the first CD put out by Staind. That's not true. If you like this CD you...

Staind: Newcomer or Old Cycle?

Date of Review:  Aug 6, 2001
The Bottom Line: A Definate MUST HAVE!
Review: In hindsight, a band always seems to 'come out of nowhere' and this is very much the case for Staind. Having released one indepedendant album and one major label debut, the quintet of dark music makers was relatively little known, and as is the case...

Respect what you've found.

Date of Review:  Apr 6, 2003
The Bottom Line: I was rushed into this. Buy this album though.
Review: I remember first hearing these guys a few years ago on the radio when I first heard Mudshovel. I loved that song, the bass was awsome and I believed Staind had talent, although they had alot of emotions to go with that. Sadness and anger are their...

Metal of the new millennium: Staind?s tortured souls don?t cycle through old tricks

Date of Review:  Jan 1, 2006
The Bottom Line: A landmark.
Review: When you're an up-and-coming metal band from Massachusetts, and your new CD suddenly sells over half a million copies in it's first week of release, and spawns five hit singles, it's probably a good reason to be genuinely surprised. Remember, this...

To be Staind or not to be Staind

Date of Review:  Aug 17, 2001
The Bottom Line: Staind has substance and real emotion. A great sound. Not like the "pop" music that has been infesting our air ways.
Review: I love this CD and the band Staind. I saw them in concert in April of 00' and they rocked. I am not always in the mood for loud and heavy. This is a great change form their other album before. Staind shows they can have a lighter feel and still rock...
