A Few Good Songs
Date of Review: May 25, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you like mellow music, this ones for you. If you don't.....I think you should stay away from it.
I have to admit, I was kind of leery about buying the Staind Album because I would only be buying it for two songs, Outside and Its Been Awhile. When I listened to it, I was pleasently surprised. I'm not a hardcore fan of Staind, but I enjoyed this cd. The only other Staind song I had listened to before was Mudshovel, and I liked that one too, but I was still kind of leery.
It was a more mellow album than the first one from what I heard, but I didn't see any problems with it being mellow. Lots of great songs were mellow, and who knows, the next Staind album could be harder than the first one.
I think the live version of Its Been Awhile was really good and I'm glad they added it to the album. I also think I liked the live version of Outside with Fred Durst is alot better than the studio version, but I still like the studio version. I really enjoyed the cd, and truthfully I've listened to it at least once per day. I think this is one of the best cd's I've bought in quite awhile. If your not into mellow music, you might want to leave this one alone, but if you do, give Staind a try. You might find you like it.
