Fantastic shaver, always ready and always works great
Date of Review: Feb 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: If you get one of these you'll want more than one, and you'll never want to be without it.
I bought one of these shavers when I was on a trip and my regular shaver was acting up. It was so inexpensive (about $15-$20) I figured if it met my needs during the trip I couldn't go wrong and I could set it aside for a "real" shaver. What I surprise I got when this little shaver performed like a larger and much more expensive one.
The shaver serves as its own carrying case by allowing the shaving head to swivel inside the case for storage and travel, and outside the case for use. It comes with a built in trimmer for sideburns, neckline, and any hairs that have grown too long to be cut by the screen cutters. As if that weren't enough, it has a small brush in the base that allows you to clean the shaver when it accumulates cut whiskers. No more hunting through draws and the medicine cabinet for a cleaning brush!
It runs on two double A (AA) batteries, so if you've got a pair of spare batteries, you're never in danger of running out of power at a bad time. To my great surprise and pleasure, this shaver seems to live forever. I've not counted how long a pair of batteries lasts, but it's a much longer time than I would have guessed. I would say more than a dozen shaves, maybe more. This is truly an all in one shaver.
The best part about it is the way it shaves. It's just great. After I found how well it performs, I just popped it into my travel kit and have never again lugged along a larger corded or rechargable shaver. I even went online and bought several more for my sons and brother so they could enjoy the convenience of this compact and terrifically effective travel shaver. I also got extras for me. Now I keep one in my travel case, and one in the car for emergencies (have you ever realized on your way to work that you forgot to shave or you missed a spot?). And I've always got a spare in case one dies. I've seen them for about $13 online, and at that price it's cheaper to buy an extra shaver than to try to replace the screen and cutting heads of most shavers.
It's the best travel shaver I've ever used and I've tried a lot of them.
