Good, close shave for a very low cost

I previously used a rotary Norelco shaver and COULD NOT get it to shave my neck closely or without giving me a severely razor-burned neck. I tried this shaver out--on a whim--and was very impressed! The first shave was closer and better-looking than ANY of my previous shaves in *2 YEARS* with my Norelco! Also, very minimal redness on my neck!

If you have a problem with razor burn, like I do, I've discovered: 1) stop using a manual razor and go electric, 2) don't use a rotary electric shaver, they can be rough on people with sensitive skin, especially on the neck area, and 3) use a pre-shave or shave-stick (Remington's ShaveStick works best for me). I've also found that a 'red neck' from an electric shaver is usually a result of going over the same spot too much and pushing too hard on the shaver. Remember that NO electric shaver is going to be as close as a straight-blade, so let it do the best job it can do and don't push down so hard to get a closer shave that you end up pushing your skin down into the cutting foil.

You'll find the Braun Interface 3612 on sale for a price typically around $29. However, the price varies greatly by location. If possible, shop around and look for the lowest price. Target sold this item at a regular price of $24.99.

The shaver is solidly built, comes with a nice-sized travel case, recharge cord (which also fits into the travel case), and brush. Recharge time is only 1 hour! (Get with it Norelco-- My PREVIOUS shaver was 4 times more expensive but took 8 hours to charge!)

Unfortunately, after six months of almost daily use, a chunk of the foil screen broke off--and I cut myself while shaving. Although Braun does not guarantee the foil screen/cutter block, I still contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement. Even if the foil screen lasts 6 months--that's still only $24 (cost of the shaver) plus $21 (cost of a replacement foil/cutter block) for a year of shaves. (12 cents a day) Still not a bad deal.

Again, the Braun 3612 works wonderfully and does a good job on the neck. You won't find a better, less-expensive shaver out there! It's perfect as your primary shaver or as a back-up/travel shaver.
