Braun Flex XP II 5790 Electric Shaver
Pros:
Full-battery-charge in ~4hrs, operates corded/cordless, 2~3shaves-charge, trimmer works well on beard&mustache
Cons:
Replacement-head >$20, non-replaceable battery, manufacturers planned-obsolescence of this product
The Bottom Line:
If you're one of us that MUST shave and purchase these products, this wouldn't be a bad choice. Better than a rotary-shaver for sure.

Author's Review
I switched to the Braun 5790 System after receiving it as a gift and have been using it for ~8 months. I was using a Norelco rotary shaver for over 6 years, and other types prior to that. This is the best shaver I have used thus far. Now that I've switched, I can honestly say that ROTARY shavers like my previous one have got to be the worst on your skin of any shaver. I have very sensitive skin and my beard grows thick very quickly. I use it every day. Although I still receive skin irritation from (any) shaver, this is the best (least irritation)so far, maybe due to the mineral oil in the cleaner keeping the skin from drying out.
I like the little travel case it comes with & the cleaning fluid cartridges can be found (for now) for under $10.
I dislike the fact that this (and most other) replacement shaver heads sell for over $20, when we all know that they can be and probably are made by machines in factories in mexico or asia for one-tenth that-->plastic case, alcohol, mineral oil, and maybe fragrance/conditioner. The fact that Braun will probably discontinue manufacturing the specific replacement heads and cleaning cartridges(in order to sell a new product and make more $$$) in a few years, BEFORE I ACTUALLY NEED TO REPLACE MY SHAVER is also a downer.
I also don't like the fact that the battery is not replaceable. Although I am very particular about almost-fully discharging the battery before recharging again(to extend battery life), all batteries die eventually. And as most manufacturers intend, when this occurs an individual must purchase a new device or pay near or more than the cost of the new device to have its battery replaced/simply repaired?!
You would think that after many, many years of various companies developing new shaving systems, they would eventually come up with an ideal system proven more effective than all others. They could sell one simple and effective system; parts would be cheap, available, and easily replaceable. There would be much less waste produced (an increasingly important factor-> both environmentally and financially speaking, for people in all areas of the world) as shavers themselves would in effect be "recycled". And again, most importantly, it would be very cost effective for the consumer.
I don't imagine that any time soon THEY will release the secrets of easy permanent hair removal (no $$$ selling that!), so in the mean time you should write your own local gigantic Shaver&WhatNot-Manufacturing Company and let them know that what you want is a simple, effective, and durable product, for you and your environment.
