Fantastic headphones, !but! they have a dirty little secret
Pros:
Amazing sound, nearly noise-cancelling, extremely comfortable
Cons:
Bose put all their work into sound quality, not overall quality, a bit pricey
The Bottom Line:
The Triports represent unmatched sound quality and comfort. Despite the flimsy headband, you will unquestionably love yourself for buying these headphones.

I bought the headphones from BestBuy in the summer of '03 for $150 + tax.
I love the Bose Triport headphones and do not think I will ever use another brand or model. These headphones produce clear, true, and vibrant sound irregardless of the device I have them plugged into. I had to redownload the majority of my MP3 collection at high qualities because for the first time ever I could hear the flaws inherent in lower quality sound files (even when compared to my Monsoon speakers).
The Triports are design for your listening comfort. The headphones completely enclose your ear, allowing outside noises (including airplane engines, train tracks, loud offices, and public places) simply melt away creating solitude and an tremendous listening experience. Because the Triports are so light weight, they do not stress your head or ears. I have worn these headphones for hours on end and fallen asleep with them on.
The Triports are truly great, HOWEVER! there is one small detail that can render these headphones useless...
While I love my Triports, I am on my 5th pair in less than a year. My first pair broke within 3 days. I exchanged them for another pair at BestBuy and used them happily for two weeks, then they broke again. My third and 4th pair were replaced by Bose, and the 5th pair I prevented from breaking, and they now have lasted 10 months.
The adjustable head band has a very flimsy design that breaks with incredible ease under the slightest pressure. On both sides where the slider pieces allow for the head band to be adjusted, the internal hook is prone to pushing through the plastic piece ment to contain it, which then seperates the headband from the ear piece in an unrepairable manner.
This can be easily fixed by wrapping electrical tape around the top portion of the earpieces where they connect and slide with the headband. If you do a neat job, most people will never notice that the tape is not part of the original design.
I finally figured this out after 4 pairs of headphones, but despite this minor annoyance, these headphones are still unbeatable!
