Introducing The Bose 301 Series V...A leap In Performance Per Dollar!

by   sam-pro ,  Aug 25, 2004
Pros: Clean powerful natural spacious sound no matter where you position yourself in your listening room.
Cons: Absolutely and positively none at all!
The Bottom Line: At 1/4 of the 901's price, the Bose 301 Series V has accomplished the rare feat of surpassing a level of already spectacular performance per dollar with a giant leap!
Review: Bose 301 Series V: Original Review Date...5 Jul., 2003 Matthew Polk has stated on more than one occasion that speaker designers need to stop constantly replacing speaker models and their #'s with new ones so all can benefit from the ...

Large Speakers that Sound Full

by   nad_masters ,  Jul 23, 2008
Pros: Full sound, clear and accurate sounding mids and highs
Cons: Pricey, highly focused tweeter
The Bottom Line: A bright sound, but only if you're sitting in the right spot. Sound pretty good for a Bose.
Review: As some of my fellow readers know, I've been using a stereo desktop speaker set (though a good one - K lipsch ProMedia 2.1) for my modest home theater system. Basically it consists of a PC running ...

Bose 301 Vs Very Good (not as good as the old 301s)

by   sixtoes ,  Aug 25, 2007
Pros: Rich, full sound Amazing imaging Retail price is fair for quality of sound reproduction
Cons: Mostly mid to high range sound, you'll want a sub
Review: I am not an audiophile. I don't have the time or the money (so it seems). However, I have heard great sound systems before and I have heard crap (all too often). More importantly, I know what I like. I have to Bose 301 Vs (2 of them) and 2 of the ...

Love these speakers

by   coachgeorge ,  Nov 21, 2005
Pros: Good clean sound
Cons: Non yet
Review: I have read many reviews of various Bose 301 series speakers. One thing is evident; you either love them or hate them. I lie back in my bed, put in a CD and close my eyes. If I feel as I am watching the band playing, I like it. This happens with ...

The Bose 301 : Same Smoke and Mirrors, Different Decade

by   AVaddict , top reviewer in Electronics at Epinions.com ,  Mar 24, 2007
Pros: Remarkably average
Cons: Remarkably average
The Bottom Line: Own a minivan? Have 2.3 kids? Think King of Queens is funny? These might be your speakers.
Review: A Little Background There are some reading the title that must be thinking, “Nooooo! Surely he isn’t going to bash Bose!” and they would be wrong, to some degree. I am not here to bash, but I am certainly not going to bandwagon and sing the praises ...

Whats wrong bose?

by   zeev22978 ,  Jan 20, 2007
Pros: BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Cons: Mids and highs are lost in bass land.its a matter of taste.
Review: I dont know what you will hear but I heard only boom boom boom :). The highs and mids were lost somewhere at the bose factory. Go for the 201, they are the true stars. If you want smaller speakers go for the 161 which are ...

Pleasant but way over priced

by   bobfromla ,  Sep 17, 2004
Pros: Pleasant if unrealistic sound. Make for acceptable background listening speakers. Bass can shake the room.
Cons: Overpriced, distorted tonality, loose wumpy bass, no imaging/soundstage, fit and finish is only OK
The Bottom Line: Pleasant for background listening, nothing more. Over priced. Bass is loose and wumpy sounding. Bad imaging, unrealistic tonality and loose base make them a poor choice for home theater.
Review: This is a review of the 301 III. I recently heard the 301 V and my opinions have not changed. Summary: A pleasant sounding speaker for back ground listening but over priced and out classed by the competition. Tonality is distorted to produce pleasant ...
