Author's Review
We received this system as a wedding gift. Having already enjoyed a Bose Wave radio for the past 10 years, we coveted this bad boy when we saw it in a Bose showroom. The sound, of course, is mindblowing. The ease of setup, amazing. Ease of use.... eh. We still haven't mastered the navigation of the library/guide (what is the difference between the two?) and compared with the ease of accessing stored mp3 files on one's hard drive, the Bose storage system seems slow, low-capacity and almost quaint; if you try to load a CD it doesn't recognize, there's no satisfactory way to label it and the cuts will forever be UNKNOWN ARTIST. But these are really minor cavils; the enjoyment of just using the darn thing more than compensates for such inconveniences. (The first time I watched Law & Order with it, the between-scene KUNG-KUNGs just about made me jump out of my skin.) When we first got it, we thought the majesty of all that movie-theatre quality sound would make our little 25 inch TV seem wholly inadequate. It actually makes it seem bigger, sharper, as if it is trying to live up to the new sound quality.
