Bose 321 - Trouble for me
Date of Review: Oct 22, 2003
The Bottom Line: Excellent sound but had tremendous problems with software. The software update disc did not clear up the problem I had with the system.
I have been a fan of Bose for years but now that has changed. I bought the 321 system and set it up. I first put a CD in and the sound was good after adjusting the bass and treble. It could have some more hi's but that's not my beef. After playing a few movies I found out the system would not play certain DVD's. The picture would be regular then get darker and go back regular. This cycle wouldn't end. I contacted Bose and they said I needed a software update disc. When I received the disc I used per instructions. It didn't work. I took the system back and got another one. Well this one had the same problem. I contacted Bose again and they said to send in the whole system. I don't think I should pay $800 and then another $30-40 to send it to a service center. I really wanted the Bose to work because the sound quality of DVD's is great for just 2 speakers and a sub. I am still waiting for a response from Bose on what other option I have. I have no problem returning this for say a Sony Dream System. That would be at the top of the list anyway. I have had friend that have had the same problem with the 321. Buyers beware!
