Manual Washing and Drying is better...
Date of Review: May 11, 2008
The Bottom Line: I have called to have the dishwasher picked up and am trying to find another Maytag like the one I just replaced
If I had a choice between using this dishwasher or manually washing and drying the dishes, I would rather wash and dry them myself. At least I can guarantee them to be clean and dry.
We also purchased this dishwasher based on the CR recommendations and user reviews. We've had it about a week and it will be going back to the store. I am thoroughly ticked off I didn't read the return policy and will be charge a 15% restocking fee for throwing away the Styrofoam packing. One thing to note for all you new buyers, keep the package until you are SURE you aren't going to return it.
While it is very quiet, which is especially important for our use since we also have an open design between the kitchen and the living area, I would rather have my old noisy Maytag because it cleaned AND dried my dishes. To think, I should have just bought the third set of racks instead of turning it in for this thing.
The most disappointing thing about this dishwasher was that it does not clean the dishes– avocado, cereal, smoothie, etc. were still there. (I don't mind rinsing, but this dishwasher really needs you to pre-clean).
I understand and researched all the issues with drying the dishes. However, plastics were still extremely wet when the cycle was over. And I am completely aware of the design Bosch is using for drying
but it's not worth it to me when it's more than residual and rinsing agent.
Now my problem is finding a new one
I feel like I can't rely on CR Ratings anymore!
