Author's Review
Bought our Bosch Evolution fridge from Sears about 3 months ago when we moved into our new house. Due to the kitchen layout, we wanted a counter depth unit. We love this thing. Now, be advised this really is a "euro" style appliance, and it most definately IS smaller than a standard US fridge, and probably would be the best idea for a large family. For our family of 4, it's just fine.
I CANNOT understand the postings about the icemaker. We put ice in EVERYTHING, and have not had A N Y problems with
ice production. I think the problem is the way this icemaker works--it literally has a small ice cube tray inside it, and it makes about 12 very small cubes-it dumps these cubes into the bin about once every 3-4 hours or so. I think the problem everyone is having is that these people have not let the icemaker build up a "supply" before they started using it. After reading the reviews, we waited for the bin to fill with ice, and then started using the ice dispenser in the door--and have had ZERO issues with ice supply running low and/or out.
The only negative we've had is that this beautiful unit scratches very, very easily--so if you get one, do not put any magnets, etc on the doors--it WILL leave a mark. Ours got scratched on initial delivery, and we had to have Sears replace it--I think the delivery guys used reasonable care, but a bungee cord got underneath the drape they had over it, and my brand new fridge arrived scratched all to pieces. We do love the supercool function and the temp display on the front panel. We also like the dispenser for water and ice--makes a nice chime when you change a selection. Also, there is a neat little door open chime if you don't close the door all the way.
In short, we just love our Bosch fridge.
