The Shack a Christian fiction book worth checking out

Date of Review:  Dec 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: Very intuitive book worth reading.
Review: The Shack by Wm. Paul Young is an extraordinary work of Christian fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. However, it is full of depressing moments and makes one think. Young writes the story about Mack in a narrative form. He is writing it...

God is a woman who lives in a shack? Sketchy.

Date of Review:  Jan 1, 2009
The Bottom Line: Basically, a drawn-out metaphor with a little bit of action thrown in. Life-changing or appalling--that's up to you.
Review: While camping with three of his children on the western coast, Mack's greatest fear comes true: his daughter Missy has gone missing. No amount of searching, no helpful police officers can find her, and nothing can console Mack in his desperation...

The Shack; Spending A Weekend With God

Date of Review:  Mar 5, 2009
The Bottom Line:

I can recommend this book to Catholics and Christians of all denominations along with non-believers understanding it is fiction yet delivers some well thought out answers to extremely difficult questions.

Review: The Christian based book The Shack has been a phenomenon on many Best Seller lists. It was in the #1 spot in Borders Books when I purchased it last week.

The Shack is a Must Read Book

Date of Review:  Feb 14, 2009
The Bottom Line: This is a must read. I haven't seen a book like this in a long time, maybe  ever.
Review: I don't think simple words can do this book justice, but I'll try my best to explain why it is so important, and what can be learned from it. As a usual non-fiction reader exclusively, it takes a lot in a fiction book to capture my attention...

God is Love

Date of Review:  Feb 5, 2009
The Bottom Line: May the Lord lead your hearts into God's Love and Christ's patience. ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:5
Review: Since I'm already a Christian, it wasn't too difficult for me to relate to the story of Mack, who has just experienced the most tragic circumstance imaginable and is in the process of healing - dealing with that circumstance, AND, is being consoled...

The Shack offers a different way to look at life

Date of Review:  Dec 27, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you're thinking about looking at faith and God from a different perspective, The Shack will help you on your journey.
Review: Four years ago, Mackenzie "Mack" Philips took his three youngest children on a camping trip in Oregon, when tragedy hits. While getting ready to head home, Mack took his eyes off of his youngest, six year-old Missy, for a few minutes. In that time,...

The Shack - Don't Believe the Hype

Date of Review:  May 12, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you get a moving experience out The Shack, then more power to you. Most of my Christian friends didn't like it.
Review: I bought William P. Young's The Shack as a gift for my mother several months ago. Now that I have read it myself, I wish I had bought her something else. She read it before I did, and neither one of us liked it. I have to admit that I fell for all...

William Paul Young Invites Readers to The Shack

Date of Review:  Jan 13, 2009
The Bottom Line: If you don't mind some hiccups in the writing and some provocative ideas, The Shack is an intriguing novel that's well worth perusing.
Review: The Shack, a novel by William Paul Young, first caught my attention about a month ago when its cover illustration of a battered wooden cabin infused with light against a snowy landscape leaped out at me from a shelf near the front of the bookstore...

Back Away From "The Shack"

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2009
The Bottom Line: I can't recommend the book because it is misleading and inaccurate, not to mention poorly written.
Review: I read this book mainly because of the huge controversy that surrounded it. Some were touting it as the best book ever; other found it heretical.

At first I found myself pulled into the story of Mack, who takes his three children on a camping...

Do You Need to Reconnect With God?

Date of Review:  Jul 23, 2009
The Bottom Line: "The Shack" is worth the buzz that it has generated - a good book that will make you think about your own relationship with God.
Review: When friends kept talking about reading "The Shack", I really didn't think much about it.  As a Christian, I do enjoy some Christian fiction, but I don't often go out of my way looking for new works.  I prefer to read non-fiction and historical...
