Life-changing Story

I am a thirteen-year-old girl who read Walk Two Moons and has never been the same. This book is absolutely essential for any girl's bookcase.
During this last summer, my Grandma decided she would read all of the Newberry Award-winning books and wanted me to read them, too. I was not excited about this but went along with it to please her. She checked Walk Two Moons out from the library and, when she was done, handed it off to me with a quiet, "Very good book." This was not of much help, considering she says this about every book she reads, but started reading a chapter every night and soon became consumed by the story. After I finished I realized what had happened to me. This book truly changed my life.
The book has wonderful balance of humor and sadness, and is addicting because of the characters, namely, Phoebe and Ben. I loved the romance and the memories Sal recalls, such as the Singing Tree and the Blackberry Kisses. I also loved the short chapters which really beckon you to read more. It was a pretty easy read, but a great break from books like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings. This would be the perfect gift (to give or receive), for any girl between the ages of ten and fourteen. I probably wouldn't recommend it for guys; they might find the romance and lack of action a bit boring.
I'm more than happy that I read this book and I would truly recommend it for just about anyone, including adults, who would probably like the whimsy and morals of the story. As my Grandma would say, "Very good book."
