A Terrific Western!

Pros: Funny and Tragic characters - but very real. Riveting story.

Cons: It's too bad that none of the Lonesome Dove folks are in these books.

This is book 2 of a trilogy. You must start at the first book - but this one is my favorite.

Although not as intense as Lonesome Dove, Wandering Hill carried me off into the Western Plains over and over. I could leave the book for a few day, do business in the big city, and as soon as I picked up and started reading again, I was transported right back to the lands of the Pawnee and Mandans Indians.

It's funny, it's sexy, and the characters are so real that you would like to meet some, desperately avoid others. Definitely a great escape, and I'm about 1/2 way thru the third book (By Sorrows River), and just like Lonesome Dove, I don't want it to end...
