Author's Review
This is Neal Boortz' second book, or more accurately, a rehashing and embellishment of his first book The Commencement Speech You Need To Hear. It basically dispels many myths the American people live under, and ones the government won't tell you about, and doesn't really want you to know.
For example; What word is not mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, or the constitutions of any of the fifty states? If you guessed "democracy" you're right. Neal correctly points out that the founding fathers abhorred democracy, and wanted to keep the country from becoming one. As Neal states, "A democracy is three wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner."
Another myth is that corporations pay taxes. No business pays taxes. Taxes are only paid by individuals, either directly, like sales tax, or indirectly, like "corporate taxes" which are really just costs passed along to individuals.
It goes into depth about the failed Ponzi-scheme known as Social Security. And also how a very small minority of the population makes most of the money, pays nearly all the taxes, but still only gets one vote, leaving the majority to vote themselves other peoples money.
I could go on and on, but Neal does it better. You owe it to yourself to read this book, and also to buy a copy for anyone you know who is graduating from high school or college. Neal takes some pretty weighty concepts and states them in a manner that everyone can understand. It really is an anti-venom to the liberal poison of the media and academia.
