Author's Review
I have never read a novel that could very well be a prediction of future events. That is until I read The Last Jihad, by Joel C. Rosenberg.
When I read this book, I felt like I was looking into a Crystal Ball. Rosenberg took events like the war in Iraq, and wrote a novel, that could possibly become a true story, in the years to come.
With the threat of a nuclear attack by Iraq on both Israel and the United States, the President of the United States is forced into a very difficult decision, by the Israeli government. That is whether or not to authorize nuclear attack of his own on Iraq.
Unlike the current President, the President in this story, MacPherson, believes that peace can be achieved through peaceful negotiations. That's why he sends Wall Street mogul, Jon Bennett to Israel, to finalize an Oil deal, that could make Israel one of the riches countries in the world.
Probably the only thing I disliked about the book was the number of characters in the book. I found my self often jumping back a chapter, to refresh my memory of who the characters were, and how they fit into the story.
At then end of the book, I thought to myself, "what if the war in Iraq does become nuclear?" Let's hope we never have to find out.
